Do you give away valid, unused FastPasses?

I usually try to give away any fast passes that we don't use if they are still valid. Most of the time it makes people happy. I have on occassion gotten strange looks and some mistrust from the people recieving them though, they didn't think it was real at first. I had the same problem a few years back at halloween horror nights at universal. I had extra tickets for entry that I bought and my guests didn't show up so I walked up to a couple that was approaching the ticket line and said here are two tickets for tonight no charge, just trying to be nice. They didn't believe me and didn't want them. So I gave them to a couple of college girls in line behind them and walked in with them so that they knew they worked. Other couples loss I suppose.

It's the best feeling doing something nice for someone for no other reason than to just be nice! I've been the recipient of a fast pass, but never the "giver" (we just always use ours!). I think this trip I'll be more likely to have unused passes because we're bringing DD with us and it's likely they'll be some unexpected changes in our days!

Erin :D

When we went to DL, we fell in love w/ "Soarin' over California" and rode it OFTEN during our short stay. On our last day, we tried to grab one last ride before leaving for our flight home. Alas, we ran out of time, but spotted four nice teens entering CA, as we left. They looked a little skeptical as first, finally smiled & said thanks. During this same trip, I tried to give 2 FPs (DH & DS didn't want to ride) to someone who didn't speak English. I'm sure he didn't understand me, because he refused to take them.

on our last trip we had two fp's for splash mountain, but dh decided he didn't want to go again, so we gave them away. the couple that we gave them to couldn't believe it. the guy kept saying "is this for real?" and the woman said "you mean, for free???" LOL :p

My DW and I do this all the time. It's our way of spreading some Disney magic around. We don't give them away to people in a standby line -- we just wander around near the ride and hand them to someone headed toward it. The looks and reactions we get are -- priceless. Some people get so excited that they don't have to wait in that long line!! :D

When my wife and I were at Epcot on our 2nd honeymoon we had two FPs for TT that we decided we couldn't use. My wife spotted a couple in their mid-20's and approached them and asked them if they wanted them. They seemed a little put-off at first and didn't seem to know what the FPs were. We explained what they were good for, and then they said, reluctantly, "OK... How much do you want for them???" They thought we were trying to scalp them! We said "Free!" and suddenly their whole attitude changed and they took them and said "Thanks".

I give mine away when I change my mind about using them too. The only thing I don't agree with is getting FP with no intention of using them, just to give them away or keep as a souvineer. Some rides (TT, Pooh) run out of Fast Passes early on.

do I give away FPs? YES almost daily.

Should you give just one away? Yes! just look around you there are lots of us SOLO adults out there that would love to use it.

Sure do......gave 4 to Pooh once to a very stressed mom since we decided to head the other way. She was thrilled!
Fastpass it on!!!

On our first day at magic kingdom...we had only just arrived that day and decided to go for just a couple of hours. All the fast passes were pretty much out already. We got on the people mover...(ok it has a different name now, but same ride) and as we were getting off the CM asked us if we had a chance to ride the buzz lightyear ride yet, and we said no and he gave us all fast passes for it. It made our night! We had someone give us some for tower or terror one day also. We gave some away for the same ride one night also.

I usually do this at least once per day. It is a great way to do something that makes someone else's vacation even better and it really doesn't cost anything except one or two minutes of your time. How wonderful to surprise a child who can't possibly wait nearly two hours to ride Peter Pan (or any other ride for that matter) to a surprise fast pass--it really makes their day and if it is the last day of a once in a lifetime vacation it makes it even better!:smooth:

Yes, GOBA Mom Lynn, I think that was the day we gave away our Kali FPs!!!!! It was right after a late lunch. DGD needed to get back to air-conditioning and the rest wanted to swim. We think that our DD was the one who gave them away and may have been holding her baby. Our 10 yr DS and his friend would have been close by.

That would be so cool if we connected like that!

We do this too.

One time DH & I had fastpasses for RnR BUT we were running out of time so we went near the end of the line saw this young looking couple (maybe newlyweds?) & handed them the tickets. They were SO thrilled & kept thanking us over & over again.
