I was just on the DCL site for the first time in a while and when the music started playing I got a little choked up and got buterflies. I guess I just miss the magic of cruising, it's been about 3 years since we went. And we haven't planned another one yet. :( Does anyone else get like this?

Yes, I also get emotional. Especially when I show my scrapbook of pictures or talk to people about our experience! I get so excited, I feel my eyes water and I have to calm myself down!! Its silly!

I cannot wait to cruise again!!!

We haven't cruised on DCL yet (we're booked for this summer), but I did get choked up when we booked the cruise this past summer, reading over the DCL brochure, watching the planning video, and then watching the DCL special on the Travel Channel. Disney has always held a very special place in my heart; my very first trip to Disney World was in the 70's, it was just my mother and I, and I think that's the reason why I get emotional now, taking my own DSs to Disney World and now on the Disney cruise :)

Anything Disney can make me emotional!!! When we first boarded the Wonder, I was like a 5 year old running up the steps to our stateroom SO EXCITED!!! The ships horn make me tear up (I keep it on my email at work to keep me sane...I listen to it when I am having a bad day!) At WDW, Illiminations makes me cry, as does the Tapestry parade....the Tinkerbell lightening bug and the "princess" dressing herself commercials made me just say "awwww..." It's just Disney!!!

By the way, people at work think I am insane :hyper: for loving Disney so much and for getting so excited over it (we have no kids), I just think...hell, they have no idea what they are missing!!!

I do I do I really do. I find myself getting a little aggravated when someone talks about another cruise line. I think I am addicted! We will be on our 5th cruise this Halloween and I think I will rebook the minute I get on board. I have never tried another cruise line, but Disney has a very special place in my heart! Perhaps it is all the Pixie Dust, maybe it's the Magic, but there is just something that keeps us going back over and over again! AND....just wait until you hear that ship's horn. you will be a little teary eyed for sure!
:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

I get emotional about all cruises, even non- Disney. Cruising is heaven to me.

I'd say I get emotional.
I am tearing up right now just reliving everything that you all have mentioned.

I teared up so much on the cruise I had to wear my sunglasses most of the time. My husband was getting embarrassed. He loves Disney also but not quite the same way I do.

Watching the kids in the conga line following all the characters really did me in. I was watching from the deck above with tears flowing. Sometimes I embarrass myself.

I would not be telling anyone this but what better place than this board where everyone understands.

Two-Foxes, i know what you mean, i get teary eyed at the parades or just seeing the castle when we first go into the magic kingdom. i love watching the little kids faces light up when a character comes up to them. i work with all men and they don't have a clue about being a disney fan, sometimes they drive me nuts picking on my vacation plans, which every year is disney and cruising.:wave2:

OH MY GOODNESS...I feel sooooo close to you guys!!! Sniff, sniff, I am so glad I found you! I thought it was just me...I mean REALLY, how weird is it that I actually get MORE excited about the Magic than my kids do! Ok, so July is our 3rd year in a row. We are "movin on up" to catagory 3 room this year and I am planning on selling my wedding band to finance it. ;-). I've been on one other cruise. There is no comparison. OUR cruise is just so pure and unadulterated. The crew is just so wonderful. The shore excursions, the spa, the food, the towel animals in our room every night, the HORN, the great Disney late night movies. Everything, everything, I miss EVERYTHING...we leave July 10, 2004, and now have LESS THEN 24 weeks to go and our world revolves around our next cruise. We book with Donna (I even remember her name) for the next year before we get off the ship. I remember during my rookie year another cruiser mentioned the Disboards and I thought "jeez, what a nerd" now I get it. I feel so privilaged to be a part of all this. Thank you, all of you, thank you...sniff, sniff....:wave2:

I'm so glad I found this board too, as I wondered how many others out there are emotional as I am when it comes to Disney! (sniff, sniff.)

Our 3rd cruise is in May (too long from now!), and I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about the horn, and the announcement when they "Welcome the ........ Family, from.... ". That get's me so pumped up! It's going to be a week of Magic.

My DH would be mortified if he knew I mentioned this, but HE got teary-eyed a few times. It caught him by surprise at Animator's P when the CM's paraded from the kitchen twirling the napkins 'zip-a-dee doo dah, zip-a-dee day'...isn't that wonderful when they do that?

I'm so sorry for others who cannot do this cruise, or worse yet, those who CAN afford to, but choose not to. (Yes, I know people who have children, but do Carnival on numerous ocassions yet won't do Disney. Thank goodness I don't know too many though) Their loss.

I do believe in fairies - I do...I do.

:) I am so glad for this site.:Pinkbounc I found bunches and bunches of people that feel the way I do. When I get home I want to go right back. My mom and family think I am crazy or should I say we (my husband and son) are crazy . They ask me if there is any place else and I tell them no way. I tell them there is no place like home and when it has any thing to do with Disney that is home.:sunny:

I get so overly excited you would swear I am a little girl who has seen mickey and minnie for the first time! Disney is so magical!

Hubby has fessed up to getting teary-eyed at Disney Dreams.
I'm not a teary kinda gal, although I will admit there is one Disney-related thing that always makes me cry. It's not related to the cruise line, though. Whenever I watch my video of the ORIGINAL Journey Into Imagination ride, I can't help but break into tears. I miss Figment and Dreamfinder!
But I will admit that the beginning part of the Golden Mickeys with Walt gives me goose bumps. I love that part!

I had to wipe away tears when we saw Mickey for the first time in November. At 36 I believed it really was Mickey. ::MickeyMo I teared up at the sail away party when the horn blew & I saw the ship moving. Well, I was glad to have my sunglasses on most of the trip. ;) I tear up now when we watch the video of the Cinderella Surprise celebration, the parades, Wishes, anything on the Magic. I am already so excited about our next cruise that I can believe it is over 300 days away. I just can't think about that.

I am so glad that other people get teary eyed just like me. When driving to the port when you can see the ship I just tear up. Getting on the ship for the first time and just seeing the beautiful entry gets me teary also. But the best tear jerker for me is the horn and disney dreams....I cry like a little girl when I hear/see this. On the last night I always go up to the front on Deck 10 to see everything one last time and walking back to my room I cry, I also get teary leaving the boat so I try not to look back. If I am with my mom it just gets worse because she cries just like me. She is a huge DCL fan just like me. She is the one that got me addicted to DCL and this board. Thank you mom!!!!

I have gone on the cruise 3 times with my boyfriend, who is now my ex, my parents and than his parents (all 3 times were with him). Now that we broke up, I get teary just seeing DCL commercials, wondering if I will ever get the chance to go back. My lucky parents get to go in October but unfortunately I don't have enough time off to go with them. I guess I will still keep wishing.

I'm with all of you. There are many moments when I'm just so moved I'll cry tears. Watching the looks on my kids faces when characters pay extra attention to them or when a CM does something nice, seeing the ships for the first time, hearing the horn.....

But the thing that rips my gut the most is walking out of the Magic Kingdom for the last time on that trip. Even if it's not our last day at Disney, the last time at the Magic Kingdom is so emotional. It's not wanting to leave but it's also all of the memories of my time there, from my first visit in 1974 to now, from going with my parents, then my kids, then my kids AND my parents! :) I literally will walk down main street telling myself (out loud) "don't look back, don't look back, keep walking, don't look at the castle" but I never listen to myself and always end up turning around, seeing the castle and bawling. My kids make it worse by running up to me, hugging me, and saying "don't worry, mommy, we'll come back, it's ok." :)

I have the picture frame that talks about memories of the Magic Kingdom....the monorial, Mickey and the gang, the smell of popcorn, the music, etc....then it says "and there it was at the end of the street, CINDERELLA CASTLE".... I'll admit, reading the frame can make me cry.

It's comforting to know that I am not alone...I am so with all of you. We watched the DCL planning video last week and I got all teary eyed. We went to se the Disney on Ice production of Monsters, Inc and I got all teary ewyed when Mickey and Minne skated out onto the ice to introduce the show. When the show was over, our family was screaming "see you in August" to all the characters on the ice...I think the people around us thought we were crazy!

I love Disney, Disney World, DCL! I would spend every vacation there (if $$ were no object)!!!

OMG! This is too unbelievable! I too get teary when I leave the MK. I cried when I left the DCL!

I can still see my dad (no longer with us in body) sitting on the porch in Frontierland in those white rockers. My sibs and I are running around the MK just having a ball. He never moved all day except to eat, get a drink or a bathroom break! I have to sit in the rockers every trip and just "remember"!

When we get to MCO and deplane, DH always give me a big kiss and says "Welcome Home Honey"! When we leave MCO, I get another big kiss and "I'll bring you back really soon, I promise"! Who can ask for anthing more? (yes, we will retire there in 15 years!):hyper:
