Lottery, poker, sports betting, casinos, fantasy sports, stock market.... ?

We just came home from the casino. A new one opened nearby so we went to check it out. I doubled my money so I'm happy. I won and we immediately left so as not to end up leaving it there. That's the first time that I've gambled in a while.

I don't really consider the stock market the same type of gamble as the rest of the ones on the list.

Yes. Not everything that has risk is a gamble. We invest. We never gamble.

I live in Reno, so I guess you could say we go to casinos once in awhile :rotfl:

I invest in the market. I consider it gambling.... just EDUCATED gambling.... or gambling with a purpose.

We used to head to Atlantic City about 3 or so times a year (a 1 1/2 hour drive). Two weeks ago a slots casino opened up here in PA less than 10 miles from home. We've already been twice. It's very tempting!!

We don't play the lottery, though. Every now and then we'll play bingo when camping.

I do think the stock market is gambling. You have no more certainty than a sporting event. Maybe I'm wrong and there is a difference between "taking a risk" with your money and "gambling" with your money...but I don't really see a difference. You're ponying up some dough, hoping that something out of your control will happen that leads to you having more money. To me, it's a gamble.

I don't gamble. I play one night of Bingo maybe every 2 years, but it is more for fun than to win.

DH gambles and so do the kids, through him. I don't get it.

I take a gamble here every day deciding on which posts to jump into and which ones to stay faaaaarrrrr away from. :lmao:

I do play fantasy sports, but only free leagues.

I don't go to the casinos or bet on anything else because if I'm gonna shell out $$, I darn sure want something tangible in return!

I will buy one of those scratch off lottery tickets at the convenience store every now and again.

That's all. I've never been to a casino or anything.

Not that anyone cares, but my ex was soooo against gambling of any sort. Would not allow me to buy lottery tickets and God forbid I wanted to go to a casino.
Then he comes around one day asking if the people I worked with wanted to buy raffle tickets for a turkey or something with the Hunting and Fishing Lodge he was a member of. I asked him, in front of everyone, exactly what was the difference between a lottery and a raffle. He was not happy with that. Did I mention he is my ex now? :rolleyes1

Rarely gamble for money. I love Texas Hold'em Poker for free online. Maggie

Too late to change my answer on the poll.
Didn't see the stock market. I know it's a gamble at times
example the tech stocks tanking in 1995.:sad2:

I don't do the other gambling.

Not counting the stock market either. My investments are conservative. I buy lottery tickets on vacation as part of my spending money but never any other time, never gamble on sports, have spent a few nights in casinos because they were there but NOT my primary destination. My casino gambling consists of taking $40 into a casino and when it's gone, I am too. I once made $40 last for four hours. THAT was fun! That was 20 years ago and I don't think I've been in a casino since. The hard work my husband and I do to earn our money just makes it seem stupid to risk that money. I would rather occasionally hand a few hundred to someone who really needs it than pull some slot lever or watch a roulette wheel take it away.

I dont *not* gamble. LOL

I am not against it and will hit the occasional casino when we pass through with my $20 limit or the rare scratch ticket but I dont consider myself a gambler.
