Do you find these inappropriate?

I found these at a few websites and all of them deemed these inappropriate. A friend of mines thinks these are cute. I'm not sure what I think. I personally wouldn't buy them.....but that's only 'cause I think they're ugly.

Not only are they ugly, I think they send the wrong message.

But that's just me, YMMV, all that jazz.

I think they are cute. They are crib shoes, not like the kid is going to remember wearing them or could hurt herself. They are just for laughs :)

I think I might actually buy a pair for my friends baby :cool2:

Since they're only crib shoes and are specifically not intended for walking, I see no harm in these. If the parents are the type who dress their baby up for fun, then why not add these once in a while? It's just costume.

OMG, those are not only TACKY, but TRASHY! :faint: Why would anyone dress their little girl up like she is going to be walking the streets when she cant even crawl yet??

These came up on another board I post on too. A couple of the ladies said they looked "hookerish." Is that what you meant, sdarwkcabemanmy? I never put shoes on any of my babies until they were walking well, because 1) I don't think people who don't walk need shoes and 2) it can cause malformation of their feet. I also don't wear high heels and have tried hard to discourage my girls from them because they are horrible for your body. That said, however, I do actually think they are kinda cute. Maybe for costume purposes or something. The pink ones remind me of Minnie Mouse shoes.

Women who wear heels are streetwalkers?

I think maybe she is referring to the animal print ones. Pretty sure those were the ones the other ladies I talk to OL really had a problem with. Don't mean to speak for anyone else, though...maybe she thinks they all look cheap and tarty.

I think they are inappropriate, unless it is part of a Halloween outfit, or similar. I also would not dye a babies hair, but some people do.

Not only are they inappropriate, but they're ugly, too.

Ugh.

I agree they are ugly. And although your baby is yours to dress - playing "dress up" with your baby like it's a Build-a-Bear is crossing the line. IMHO of course.

I also don't believe in putting shoes on non-walkers unless it's absolutely necessary. Even then, if we were going to a relative or friend's house, I'd take the shoes off of him when we got inside.

If the shoes were strictly for a costume, that's one thing. But I think in any other situation, it's like the mom feels the NEED to have her daughter wearing high heels before she can even walk so that she is 'girly' enough or something. That's just me though.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't wear shoes AT ALL unless I have to. I even drive barefoot. When I was growing up, we didn't have a lot of money and my mom wanted us to 'save' our shoes for going out in public, school, etc. So we went barefoot a lot.

I also encourage my son to go barefoot, esp if he's just in the yard playing or out on the driveway. I don't mind dust, etc getting in the house (that's what a vacuum cleaner is for!) so it doesn't bother me if he's got dirty feet.

I have mixed feelings about them.

I do think that they would be cute just for a photo op. I have seen MANY baby pictures where they dress the baby up with a fancy brimmed hat and pearls, etc like they are dressed "for high tea". These would be cute in that situation.

I think the only outfit they would be appropriate with should have juicy or hot babe written across the butt...

I personally think that they are exactly what they were meant to be...FREAKING HILARIOUS!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I probably would only buy them as part of a halloween costume, because I think they're ugly as sin.
And I've never worn a high heel in my life, if that makes a difference...LOL

I think some people are taking some things a little too serious. I think if someone looks at a baby in those and gets the wrong message, then there is something wrong with that person, and it's not the shoes the baby is wearing that is causing it.
