And Chavez? The House of Saud has certainly done us no favors except keep us dependent on them for gas. Their petro dollars support madrasses around the world that promote "Death to America" views. Their petro dollars fund suicide bombers. That doesn't seem to have lessened our support of them.

Sheehan can do what she wants. Whether she is annoying or not is irrelevant. Maybe she's not consulting with pollsters to figure out the best way to get the most sanitized message across, but her public grieving has been about the death toll in Iraq. With 3,000 US soldiers dead, and 3,000 Iraqis a month dying, I think she has a point.

When she first lost her son, I felt bad. Now, I hear her name on the news and just tune it out, her 15 minutes are up.

You can't put a time limit on grief and everybody is different, so how can you say this is no longer about her grieving? Grief is a strange monster. It can break some people. I can't judge someone who is going through this as I have nothing in my history to even compare, thank God. So I do not know, nor can I comprehend, what she feels she "needs" to do, but, really, neither can you. Thank your lucky stars, you know?

I so completlely agree with you. It's interesting to me, I don't have children of my own, so I can't even imagine the grief of a parent who loses a child, but so many of the responses on this thread have been from "so and so's mom" or from people who have talked about their children on other threads, and the OP mentions his daughters in his, do they think they are immune to a loss like this, that they can judge some one who has suffered this so harshly?

I absoultely agree with this. I don't think that she is seeking fame, I don't think she is thinking anything at all to be honest. I'm not a therapist or pychologist but I think she has some of the worst PTSD that could occur in a civilian and, yes, its possible that she can have it. If you look at all her actions of the past years, including her divorce and isolation from her family that reeks of mental illness. Last week I saw her on the television when she was in DC and there honestly did not look like anyone is home. I can't even begin to fathom what she is thinking or feeling or have done and pray that I don't. When I see her on television, I just feel bad.

Cindy Sheehan stands for anti-American to many people, because she is anti-war. For many people, the two are one and the same. Maybe if they shoot the messenger, or write her off as "annoying", the message of a bloody sinking hole in Iraq won't be true.

Well, you really never know how to take those e-mail campaigns, but I recall one that included a photo of her having her make-up done by the news crew just before one of her roadside protests... and she was all smiles.

we wake up and spend a good half hour together before we even get out of bed on Sunday! - that's where we have our best talks!!!!! Had breakfast together and right now she is practicing viola before we practice tap together (either I do - or more usually her father!)
