Do you feel you need more park days/less/the same when planning trips now?

I am curious as to how people are changing up their NEW trips based on previous trips because of magic bands/FP+. Next month will be our first trip using the new system. We normally have 7-9 days in the parks....hoping our 8 days does not disappoint.

This year I have a 4 day pass for July 19-27 (with 2 at Universal). I am debating whether or not to skip AK and double up at either Epcot or MK this year.

We could get 4 day military salute tickets via the military deal but I know there is NO way 4 days would work for us. We even thought about adding Universal too.... but I like hitting the parks more than once. So we are going with an 8 day ticket. I feel like you have to double up on MK and EC with the new system. UGH

To be honest, and I never thought I would say this because I'm an obsessive planner....

With all the planning & precise timing now involved with FP+, ADR's, etc..., I feel like I need to build in more NON-park days that involve no parks, no planning, no ADR's (well, maybe one-I am an obsessive planner after all ;) ), and really no plans.

I thought about it, but I wanted to to to Cape Kennedy while down there and have some down time (pool time) too. Staying with friends. I'm also on dialysis (I am going down as it is very likely I will be undergoing a kidney transplant as early as early fall and no rides for one year minimum following). AK, when I do go, I do in about 2 1/2 hours, 3 if I take a break. I basically go for the rides and skip parades/shows. Only show I make a point of going to is Beauty and the Beast.

I tried and failed to do the FP+ thing so I'm going down with just my passes and hoping for the best.

Before the Frozen summer announcement, I added an extra day to EPCOT. Now I will either cut my AK day or add a day just to make sure I have enough time for the long queue expected at the Frozen event. My plan was to have as much non-park day as possible, but now it's out of the window.

Usually my wife and I go for 5-6 park days. This time with taking our two year old for the first time, we are doing 8-9. We made a list of all of the attractions we wanted to do and then figured out how many fast passes we would need and planned out days from there. We assumed that our two year old wouldn't stand in line very long in the July heat so we have a fast pass for every attraction we want and some of them two fast passes.

If there was no fast pass plus, we probably would have stuck with the 5-6 days and just did whatever we could.

We go for the max 10-day ticket. Sometimes I extend my resort stay for 1-2 extra days bc I don't want it to end. I swear, if Disney's max ticket increased to 12 days, or 14 days, I would buy it and stay the extra time.

I am going from monday- friday and purchased a 4 day ticket on my package. If I miss something this time I will save it for the next trip.

Edited to add: my tickets include the park hopper. I will mostly concentrate on EPCOT World Showcase and MK though.
