Do you ever see the same server?

Someone on another thread had mentioned that folks should ask for a particular server at a restaurant. This brings an interesting point to mind. We visit WDW and eat at the restaurants on a regular basis. {several times a month} And as DVC members we stay on property a lot. In all of our 100 plus stays, we can only recall three CMs that we saw more then once. The greeter at the GF, the greeter at the BC, and a waitress, Chris, at Olivia's at OKW, who is now working at a store in Disney MGM. We have never run into the same CM at any store, resort, front desk, restaurant, theme park, etc., other then those three. So, the question is, have you ever run into a CM that you recognize at WDW more then once?

We love Michael, our favorite waiter at the Flying Fish. Also "Bobby the Kid" at WCC. We have had both of them several times.

Bob

We had the same waiter 2 years in a row at California Grill - Billy.

The only place I've seen a server I remember from a previous trip is at B&C. I've seen the same lady working there my last 3 trips. Such a "healthful" place as B&C suggests I'm definitely eating too much junk food at WDW!

We dined at Kona Cafe one morning for breakfast and in talking to our server found out he is from 2 towns over from us. A couple years later we were back for lunch one day and he was there again. :)

We had a "dud" server at WCC- no charisma at all, slow, etc.

I was SHOCKED to see him on our next trip at 50s Prime Time! And he was still "duddy." It surprised me to see him at such a "hoppin" restaurant where personality really counts.

We have had the same server at Artist's Point. Nice and efficient!
Can't recall her name but somehow she knew Connecticut, our home state.

We recognize servers at WCC and Beaches & Cream. At B&C, Brian is our favorite. We've only gotten him once, but we always say hi to him when we're there and he remembers us too.

At WCC, we always say hi to suzannenews even though we've never had the pleasure of being served by her. At WCC it's easy to remember the servers especially the wacky ones.

I remember a server at Kona too, John. He's served us twice and he was really pleasant.

I don't know why, but people remember us. We don't remember their names, but we remember faces - Thank God for name tags!

Whenever we check into the GF, the concierge people (besides the one checking us in) greet us by name and we get 'I remember you.... We always happen to get the same bellamn who remembers us too. His name I remember (Dennis) but that is the only one.

At Citrico's, the manager always greets us by name and gives us a big hug and we always get the same waiter, who also remembers us. We get the "hey you two....." The same waiter makes sure we are one of his tables too. Both the Mgr and waiter take such good care of us. We get a great table, great food and wine recommendations, and he brings out samples from the chef for us to taste, and also some wine samples before we buy. On a few occasions the chef has come to our table to say hello. It's almost like we are at a private chefs table but we're not. I wish I could remember their names, but when I see them I do.

I don't know why we are treated so nicely. We do tip very generously, and are very friendly.. could that be it...I don't know????

We ahve tipped very generously all the above people

Whenever we eat at The Biergarten, we request Sylvia. She is the best. Hopefully she will be there when we go back in December. She remembers us, or at least she pretends to! Our last name is pretty German, and I love the way Sylvia says it.

We have had the same server at FW buffet 3 times. DH loves to go to GF's 1900 Park Fair just to see the man who busses tables. His work is artistic to watch.

At O'hana, two years in a row, we had the same server and remembered her. I don't know if anyone else knows her, she looks like she should be a waitress at the 50's Prime Time Cafe

Ron at JIko, Nancy at V&A--been there for a # of years each. Going down just twice a year does limit our server "exposure" somewhat--.

Other side of the coin--when servers, etc recognize you. For the last eight months we've been going each Sunday evening (after my work) to our local Ruby Tuesdays. Each time it;'s the same young lady at the greeting podium. Just last night, (for the very first time) there was just the slightest look of recognition from her, as tho to say "Haven't you been here before??" :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

We had the same server, Paul, at Crystal Palace two years in a row. He remembered us and even inquired about the whereabouts of my parents on the second trip. :D He is very sweet to our daughters and a great, great server!

Paul at Crystal Palace is really great. We had him one year and he was fantastic. Very attentive especially when you consider we had 8 people at our table that year.

We had the same server at 50's PTC November 2003 and December 2004....kinda nice :)

We had the same server (Mickey - which is probably the only reason I remember his name:) ) at Beaches and Cream one year, and then Prime Time the next. We also had a girl who waited on us at Prime Time one trip, then Hollywood and Vine the next.

we have had the same server twice at 50's prime time, both times the same experience- she was as much excitement as a root canal? dont know how she got to work there, but when she greeted us the second time i almost fainted. she was just as bad the second time as the first and the trips were 8 months apart :guilty:

we also had the same server twice at the poly at kona cafe, i remembered him because he was from our hometown. cant remember his name though, sorry. :sad2:

Kevin and Doree (sp?) at Mama Melrose have both waited on us many times. It feels almost like seeing family when we dine there. :sunny:

There is a server at Kona that has been there many, many years. I can't think of his name right now :sad2: but he is from NJ. Even if we don't get him, he stops by to say hi.

Although I don't think they would remember us, I remember Ann and Nancy at V&A as well as a server who I think Uncleromulus reports has left...is it Pete? There is another waiter there who we've had more than once but I can't remember his name either right now! He is great too and used to work in the Empress Room. A tall gentleman.

Last trip, Malek was our server at Citricos and we will certainly request him next trip. He was excellent!

There was a great lady at Captain Cooks who we knew over the years. She hasn't been there for a couple years now though. :sad2:

Does anyone remember a server named Michael at GFC? He also taught at Disney U and was great. We looked forward to seeing him.

Barbara and Hank have done room service at the Polynesian for years and it is always nice to see them. And Nancy takes the orders. I've never seen her but we've talked so often that I think she knows one part of our order! Very friendly.

We've come to know housekeepers at the Polynesian too. One used to work in Rapa Nui although she's in a different building now I think. And Urline in Hawaii recognizes us.

Another vote for Bobby at WCC. He's definately a top  . I know the antics are a little over the top, but we love that place and he makes it so much fun.
