How did you know what I'm thinking right now?
Here's an example:
I really had to keep my cool today. We had an "incident" at work that blew up into a big deal because of someone's irresponsibility.
One person broke a mercury thermometer on FRIDAY, apparently tossed part of it in the trash and then left the bulb with the majority of the mercury sitting on a radiator. Today, another person saw the broken piece, picked it up and then it fell into the radiator! Just what we needed, heated and vaporized mercury in the air. The person who broke the thermometer on Friday just laughed it off initially until three Security guards, an ESD worker and two maintenance guys showed up. Tomorrow they might take the whole radiator out because of it.
If the person who broke the darn thing only said something or acted correctly on Friday none of this would be happening. This person, BTW, has a PhD in a science. They should know better. Often, we have kids visiting the lab. What if one of them had found the broken thermometer and began to play with it? What if an ESD worker had poked themselves with the broken piece which was tossed in the trash? Tonight the person who did it was acting like a baby, saying they wanted to go home to their parents (in another Country).
Who cares if people used to play with Mercury years ago. Doctors also told their patients about the "health benefits" of smoking too but we know better now.... don't we?
Maybe their parents can get them a life!
Rant over.
