We have been going to DL annually for the past 7 years. EACH time we go away without going on a Beloved ride, eating one more churro, buying that special Disney cup memento, purchasing fun things that are only available in the USA such as Crystal Light DECAFF iced tea (NOT available in Canada, I don't know why!!) Sometimes we regret that we fall ill while there (colds) or that we got blisters on our feet (duct tape is going to be our strategy in 2013, I swear!!)

I find upon our return, in my dreams, I am always back there, but the shuttle service is ready to pick us up to take us back to the airport but I am not finished yet. Usually I miss my flight back home in my dreams. :sad2:Which would be VERY expensive if it really happened!

We missed buying the delicious sunflower seeds that Hojo's gift shop had, as well as the Now and Laters, which are also not available in Canada.

I also regret not buying Mickey beignets, not ever - or pommes frites. Pommes frites we did enjoy once before. I regret not having any of the gumbo, too.

AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH. I need to go back! :goodvibes

We didn't even make it into Toon Town, nor did we ride Peter Pan. Ugh.

What do you guys miss when you leave?

This trip my regret was assuming we'd be fine for Fantasmic in the crowd. Had I known how bad it was going to be for DS I'd have paid for the dessert seating. Ah well, next time. :)

We skipped a lot this trip but don't regret it. It was a very different trip than usual because it was geared around the baby.

Those little types of regrets are how Disneyland keeps making money on repeat visitors :)

Mine are almost always food related! I usually head up for day trips or short overnight two-days, and my regrets are always that I should have gotten X for dinner instead of Y, or should have picked the dark chocolate-covered marshmallow skewer over the cupcake lol. I have the luxury of being able to go about once a month, however, so I don't stress my regrets very much, but once I get a craving, all I can think of is that next Disneyland trip! For example, today all I could think about were the onion rings from Hungry Bear... :rolleyes1 I'll have to head up soon to get my fix!

Forego the duct tape and go with sports tape. :thumbsup2

DOH!!! They have CHANGED the onion rings there!!! What used to be great, awesome, lightly breaded, now taste like yeasty beer ( my son commented on it) and they are really greasy. Ugh. Do you like the new ones? They give you - hold your breath - 3. 3 onion rings. Filling, but gross. You are sooo lucky to go once a month. Our annual trips are so hard to get everything done, but I can still see how monthly shorter trips make it hard to get all of it in, too!! :goodvibes

Seriously?? I will have to look for that! Thanks! :)

We ended up using waterproof bandaids and then moleskin over top of that. Worked great once we had the blisters on the bottoms of our feet, but would have certainly preferred to prevent them. :headache:

I regret too, that I didn't buy that for our DD who turned 9 on this trip!! I should have splurged. WOC was fine, and great - until I 'ducked down' to her level to see she could see NOTHING! Poor kid. :( Fantasmic with (ah, seats!) would have been wonderful.

Fireworks were canceled the night we arrived due to high winds. Our last night before we left, we saw them from Hojo's pool with a wonderful family we had met that were from our area. Very nice memories.

Haha now that you write this, I think I remember reading a post you had written elsewhere about the "new" onion rings being gross and I thought "I actually REALLY like the greasy ones" haha. To each their own. I have had them twice since they reopened Hungry Bear. The first time they were cold and getting soggy but the second time they were delicious. I really prefer the beer-battered kind to the panko-breaded kind though so they work for me.

I just remembered my other regret, which is wearing flip-flops to look "cute" and not get a sock tan, but always wishing I'd just worn tennis shoes with socks and been super comfortable instead :)

Yes, super comfy is the way to go. :) (Said the lady who actually wears a fanny pack in front of me? It is sooo comfy that I actually do it. I don't know anyone there. ;) ) Hmmm... I wonder if we had a particularly bad batch that smelled strongly of old oil and/or yeasty beer?? I LOVE greasy onion rings normally, and would have been o.k. with the change but it was very 'off' somehow. Yes, you are right, that was me that posted earlier about the onion rings.

Whenever we come up with our "but we didn't get to do or eat all of our favorites," my reply has always been, "I guess we'll just have to come back soon." The last time I was there with my DS and started to mention something we didn't get to do, He said back to me, "I guess we'll just have to come back soon." :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Sonnyjane had it right, Disneyland really loves their repeat business. I am ready to go eat some of those onion rings just to see if they were as 'bad' as I thought they were. Sigh. Really miss Disneyland. Your DS pegged it right on.

I am laying in the bed in my hotel room on the last night of my weeklong trip and I have quite a few regrets:

- I regret sleeping in during 2 of my 3 available magic mornings
- I regret not buying a razor and shaving cream when we stopped at food 4 less, and instead paying $18 the next morning at acorn gifts and goods
- I regret buying way too much food all of which will go into the trash tomorrow
- I regret buying way too many souvenirs. Now I gotta buy another bag and pay additional baggage fees
- I regret not buying more DVC points the first time around
- I regret letting my son pick which ride we do next ("it's a small world after all" going off in my head)

Yeasty beer-tasting onion rings??? Where??? Sign me up!!! *yummmmm* :woohoo:

My biggest regret is not planning just ONE extra day during the Christmas season. I can't get enough of the park's transformation and the beauty never wears on me. DH and I feel so sad when we leave on the last evening of our trip. :guilty:

Yes, yes!! All of those kinds of things! :) MY regret is our DD, 9, mentioned she wouldn't mind going on It's A Small World and somehow, we didn't go on that, either. :(

YES!! We did not do one magic morning, and one was all we had! How silly!!!

YES! Von's - we bought too much again. I hope Hojo's staff was able to enjoy whatever was left over (sealed.)

P.S. Enjoy Disneyland while you are still there - the memories and scents and ambience fade all too quickly; when you can still smell POTC ride in your head and remember it, life is good. Once that slowly fades to a memory, it is more difficult. Remember - feel - see - everything you can while still there. I feel badly for you about the razor and cream - that would have bothered me, too!!

Now I am craving the gross onion rings that you have made me think must be awesome. What oh what is wrong with me? :confused3

The Christmas season there is so beautiful, you are so right!

MMMMMM Onion Rings, I can't wait to try them.

I definitely agree with running shoes with socks AND fanny packs. There is no other way I'd get around in Disneyland. I never have to take it off for any ride!

I've started a small collection specifically for Disneyland trips....and I can't go that often! I love fanny packs...fashionable or not :flower3:

I regret not taking Dobie Daughter more often. Now she is all grown up and we have to go without her this summer!!!

The last few visits I've regretted not seeing the Bugs Life show. I always mean to make our way over there, and for some reason we don't. There is always something that I wanted to buy, but put off and then didn't get to that I regret.

BLISTERS oh yes blisters. I usually walk so ridiculous by day two because my feet are in such bad shape (flat feet on top of everything else). So sports tape? Just wrap up your feet like a mummy or what? LOL Crocks usually were my miracle shoe in the parks, but last year at WDW I noticed I was getting blisters even with those. So I'd LOVE to find a way to prevent that this year.

I'm actually hoping to not buy too much this year. My house looks like a Disney store as is. I'm going to try to limit myself to one Christmas ornament, one globe/figurine, and one piece of clothing for myself. Instead of the stuffed trunk we usually leave with! AHHH :)

Now you have me craving POTC ;)

If you go to any athletic shoe store (one that deals specifically in shoes and has great reviews on Yelp) and tell them you get blisters they'll recommend some specialty socks which work to prevent blisters. These along with a good pair of shoes is your best bet.

Be prepared, the socks are usually expensive (7 dollars plus a pair). I personally use Balega which runs about 10 bucks a pair, but I can walk for days in them and not get blisters so to me, it's worth the ten dollars.

They're also more comfortable than athletic tape.
