Do you do volunteer work.......

Currently no as I have just moved to CA....but in the past, ::yes::

Boy Scouts volunteer
CCD volunteer
High School Music parent volunteer
Elementary School Science Fair volunteer
Soup Kitchen volunteer
Elementary School Classroom volunteer

I give shots for the church. I'll go and check a bp for an old lady who is concerned (or pretends to be, but just wants a visitor.) Nurse crap.

Sometimes I'll drive stuff somewhere or help sort. My church is the only church I've ever been to does this, but almost every week they want us to bring in some specific thing for some specific group. "Socks for recent Mexican immigrants", "toothpaste for battered women", that sort of thing. I'll sort or drive it somewhere.

The hospital I work for is really big on community involvement, so sometimes I'll do stuff like vital signs and sugar checks or whatever. I don't do much of it, though.

The vast majority of my volunteer time is for the church.

I've done Meals on Wheels and am currently helping with Angel Food Ministries

I volunteer for the Madison Children's Museum Annual Benefit Sale. It's a blast & if you've never been you wouldn't have believed it.

I consult and mentor small business owners. I like turning businesses around and helping people try things. It's been word of mouth for years or when I bump into people but I haven't worked with anyone in a few months. I wish I could find a more structured outlet to volunteer with but I haven't had any luck. :confused3

I do the usual volunteering at my kids' school, field trips, class parties, school store, ect. I also coach elementary cheerleading. I LOVE it!

I've been teaching CCD at my church for 7 years so far.

I volunteer at the kid's school.
I'm a Girl Scout Leader (which has led me to doing other volunteer work...like Birthday In a Box).
DD and I buy small stuffed animals and donate them to hospitals because when she broke her arm she was given "Early" a small bird stuffed animal.

But I think what I "volunteer" for best is just being there for my kids and their friends. If someone needs a ride home, or a ride to gymnastics, or dinner before their parents get home, etc.

I volunteer at my dd's school. My son started middle school this year and I'll help out there next month - seems they don't need as much help as they do in elementary school.

Also, I'm a girl scout leader.

Most of mine is at church
Toddler Nursery
Vacation Bible School
School Council for the ds old school

Since I got dx with cancer I havent been doing all too much lately for sure.

I volunteer at/with my church. I used to volunteer with a dog rescue group, but it got too political. So now I offer help with dog behavior wherever I want to.

I volunteer for DARE. Its very rewarding.

Can you give me more info on this. My daughter had a DARE class in 5th grade and she LOVED it. Now she preaches it to her friends in 8th grade.

Oh yes! I have to have something to do.

I volunteer regularly at a local arena selling concessions to raise money for cancer research and other charities. I host, design and maintain web sites for non-profits. I serve on a Province Board for a national philanthropic organization and I chair one of the national committees. I volunteer at the USO, sort donations at a facility for foster care, collect and deliver pounds of pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald House, staff fundraisers to raise money for hemophilia research, serve as a buddy with an adaptive baseball league for players with disabilities, make and donate fleece blankets for Project Linus and another group that helps parents with perinatal loss support, volunteer at the veteran's hospital in Orlando and annually participate in Operation Christmas Child. A dear friend is about to travel to the Love-A-Child orphanage in Haiti to serve in their medical clinic and we're organizing donations of toys and other items for her to take as gifts for the children.

I enjoy what I do, even if it's not 'work' to some people but I know it matters to someone somewhere. I try to make the most out of being a stuck-at-home-wife.

I am a volunteer with the Special Olympics. Our county's Special Olympic Equestrian Team is headquartered at my farm, and I am the head coach. We have approx. 25 riders and another 10-15 Assistant coaches. I ADORE my athletes (even the one who punched me yesterday because I made him dismount after I caught him hitting his horse). My guys/gals are all awesome! I've also been an assistant coach on the US Special Olympic Team.

yep we are on the youth staff at church, help out a lot in extra stuff there and I have been in charge of our Trunk or Treat for the last 2 years.
