Do you decorate your resort room window?

I have done window clings (made my own) for the windows and mirrors.

I've been thinking about trying to make window clings. How did they turn out? Do you have any pictures of them?

We have decorated our windows with our traditional family photo taken in front of the Adventureland sign in the MK. I have pictures from every year starting in 1987, but not every person went every year (I am the ONLY one who has), some years included extended family, some years were just the adults (DH, myself, my parents, my sister), some years were just my immediate family, or parts of it (my girls and I did a fabulous girls getaway week that will always be remembered as a blast!) It is fun to see how the kids have grown through the years. I am looking forward to (someday) having my grandchildren in the picture too.

I am not exactly sure how the tradition started, but now a WDW trip would not be complete without taking a picture by the Adventureland sign, and it is a lot of fun seeing all the pictures on our window when we return to our resort. (I also have these pictures displayed on the front of my frig, in not too many more years I am going to have to get a bigger refrigerator!!)

:cheer2: We wnt last year at Halloween too! We are going again this year. I had forgotten that some of the windows were decorated. I thought they were really cute. I will have to do it this time. My daughter will love it! My Birthday also falls during the time we go, So I may add something for that one day. My DH gripes everytime we go because we always pack too much, so I will have to come up with something that doesn't take up much room in the suitcases. I will love to see what other ideas pop up here!!!!

The solo purpose, for using pictures like these, is to spread some fun and make people laugh!.

Sorry, but i cant seem to be serious 24 hours a day, i like a good laugh!. :goodvibes

FWIW, I thought the Mother Angelica one was very cute and made me truly LOL. :rotfl: So rest assured that at least ONE person got your joke! :goodvibes

I just don't see the humor, when someone is insulting you by saying your thread is uninteresting. If you don't like the topic of this thread, please don't waste everyone's time by posting here.

I'm as big a WDW nut as anyone can be, but unless you have kids, and perhaps at christmas time, I don't see the point in decorating the windows. Must just be me...... :confused3
Ditto here.

It's just my hubby and me on WDW vacations. The only time I ever dressed up our window was on our honeymoon. The CSR CMs brought us a congrats balloon and a card from Minnie and Mickey. It was sooooo cute. I put them in the window so we could see them when we came back from the parks. But that's it. I'd never bring my own stuff and decorate the window.

I think I will put a sign on my door at the CR wing room next May that says

"GIDDYUP"

(it appeals to the "Kramer" in me :earseek: )

LOL Love it, as long as you don't use Hoochie Momma (another Kramerism) you should be ok LOL :rotfl:

Just wanted to update:

We just got back from PC and the doors ARE metal. I used the door sign from our cruise with the lime green Mickey Head with my DIS name on it and it worked great. We were way in the back of the resort, though, so I doubt if anyone saw it! LOL

Denmark - I giggled, but then I went to Catholic School - or maybe I am just warped as well!

GGoofy1 - Were the doors at OKW metal?

Kate

Hey! We are leaving for ASSp in two days, and I'm busy making my MAGNETIC DOOR SIGN!

I wanted to post and let you know that I'm almost 100% sure the resort doors are metal.

You can buy magnetic sheets at office supply stores or Wal-Mart. They come with their own software, and you print them through your printer.

We make a bunch for our cruise in January, and I'm getting ready to make some more for our trip this week.

I found a Disney Printer Creations set at Big Lots earlier in the year. It came with two 8.5 x 11 sheets of glossey magnet "paper" and clipart of Disney characters. I think it was $3 or $4.

I love your ideas about decorating the rooms! I think I'm going to do that too! Any ideas where I can get Disney window vinyl clings???
