Im not talking about the fresh meat that gets packaged up into smaller packages before freezing. I mean the frozen boxed food that gets put in the freezer.
If not, then how do you know how long it's been there?
Just put a permanent marker down near our freezer so I mark the food.

I actually don't mark anything. I don't freeze much, a little meat, and basically ice cream and waffles go in. I usually buy my meat a week at a time, so it's not in there very long, and DH HATES frozen veggies, so I only buy fresh.

No, I don't. I freeze very little and try to rotate food as it goes in so I can keep track of what's freshest.

Nope, I don't freeze much and the little bit I freeze we eat before it has time to go bad. LOL :D

Actually I prefer to date cute guys....but whatever floats your boat ;)

Seriously, I do not date things I put into the freezer. If it hasn't been eaten, and I can not remember when I bought it, then it just gets tossed into the garbage. I actually waste sooo much food (not talking about just frozen items, but refrigerated and pantry too) because SO and I eat out so often. I hardly ever cook, so I try not to buy things that will go bad if I do not have an "eat buy" date already picked out in my head!!

Oh My!!! We periodically go through the freezer to see what we don't need to buy -- have to send some home with the DS in college so things don't go to waste (or waist :) -- thanks for the marker idea -- we used to keep a running list on the computer --- but ..........

I don't freeze much now that the nephew is gone. When he lived here the food didn't stay in the freezer long enough.

Yes, I label and date items I place in the freezer. Since I do live alone and love to cook I always have items to freeze for quick meals later on.
