Do you check to make sure otc or prescription meds are safe for you to take?

Sorry about your DH's cousin Shannon.

Benadryl has been available over the counter for years now. I don't know why a doctor would right out a script for it, unless it also contained other meds that aren't approved for OTC usage.

I always research new meds I've never taken, or for OTC meds, I read the labels. I am allergic to lots of meds, so I don't want to put my self in danger! They always ask at CVS when picking up an RX "do you have any questions for the Pharmacist?"

That is so sad. My prayers are with your family. :(

I always read the insert that comes with my prescriptions and read all the warnings for OTC drugs. I think it is a shame that a lot of people don't realize how powerful medicines can be. I also check the pills for anything that's not generic to make sure the right drug name is imprinted on them. I like paying for generics since many of them come in under my copay, but it always freaks me out that I can't tell for sure if they gave me the right medicine.
