Do you carry a full size tablet with you regularly?

I am much the same way.

I use my laptop at home for the most part.

Well, it depends on what you're using it for. I have a Mini for work, but it is horrible for grading papers on. I wish I had a full sized iPad for that purpose. (our school district went all electronic so the students have iPads, the teachers have a Macbook Airs and iPad Minis). For reading, browsing FB and Dis, the mini is fine. I watch Netflix on it in the kitchen when I'm cooking or cleaning.

I prefer my laptop for anything that requires typing. I guess I'm old school in that regard. My mom insisted I take typing classes in high school, so I am a REALLY fast typer and get frustrated with the lack of a keyboard on all my touch devices! I can type a message in moments on my laptop but it takes me a lot longer using the touch keyboard on the mini or on my phone.

I love my mini. DH had a full sized and it just seems so big.

No, but I am going to get a Mi Fi set up for my tablet for my vacation. Lots cheaper than getting a smart phone for mobile web access.

We have had a few tours come through work recently, all foreign exchange students......very strange seeing these college students taking photos with their full size tablets. I remember when the big deal was making electronics SMALLER.:lmao:

I just got an iPad mini and don't see a need to carry it with me. Unless I am going somewhere with wifi most of what I use it for wouldn't work. I have an iPhone so I just use that when I am out.

I don't use my tablet as much as I thought I would. It's too big and kind of has become a dust collector. I do enjoy it for watching movies on the plane.

I have a kindle fire and an iPad mini. For my Xmas birthday I got a kindle fire HDX 8.9". I love it for home use! One of my other two rides in my purse at all times. Anything bigger would not be as portable.

I went back and forth over the iPad Air and the iPad Mini Retina. I finally settled on the Mini (have had it for 2 weeks) and I LOVE this thing. It's the perfect size for me and I can easily toss it in my purse. I worried I wouldn't use it much but I use it all the time. I don't think I'd carry around a larger one as much.

I take my 10-inch ipad to work, it fits well in the tote bag I have with my lunch and a few other things. I also take it to DS' swim practice, as I like to read on it while I wait. I don't really take it anywhere else, but it is wifi only. I like the size of it better than DH's ipad mini. He prefers the mini as it fits in the pocket of his flight suit for work, and he can take it in the helicopter with him easily.

I think it depends on how you plan to use it when you are out. If I was planning to use it while sitting in a waiting room, or waiting for a kid to finish a lesson or practice, or something like that, I would just carry my larger one in its case like a book. It wouldn't need to fit in my purse. :confused3
I love having the ipad at home-much more portable and easier to use than the laptop.

I have the 10 inch and have no problem carrying it around, when I do I just use a bigger bag, I do. It take it everywhere though, mine everywhere with me, only classes and work, and when I travel

But this post is realllly making me want a mini too, not that I need one, but it's fun to want!

I'm typing on mine now, I do everything on it, except homework, which I do in my MacBook

I have an IPad 2 and I do carry it to work. My tote is a Vera and it has a pocket on the front for a tablet.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 7 inch tablet, and it's the perfect size for carrying around to my granddad's doctor appointments. I'm getting an 11 inch tablet/laptop hybrid for school, but doubt I'll use the tablet part when in highly mobile situations, or when I'm reading in bed. The 7 inch tablet screen is about the same size as a paperback book, but easier to hold.

Yes, I do.

I use a Logitech bluetooth wireless fabric skin keyboard which keeps my iPad2 very thin and gives me almost full functionality on it so that I rarely even use my laptop anymore. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Fabr...r=8-42&keywords=logitech+keyboards+for+ipad+2 (This allows you to either use it in position with the keyboard or hold it without the keyboard, tablet style.)

My kids use theirs exclusively for school, too, with the same keyboard. They carry it in their backpacks.

I don't find it heavy to carry around, really. (At least no more so than my photography gear - that's heavy!) I made room for it by carrying just the basics that I need in both my pocketbook and my work bag. A mini would be too small for me.

Good luck with your decision.

I carry my HDX with me, its 7 inches :) I have big purses because its hard to carry stuff for 6 people in a small one, lol! I have a nice double sided hard case that zips. I just put in in and go. I use it often. Many places have Wi-Fi so I can stream with my Prime or I can read or download anything that I want. I also have an iPhone with a nice data plan that I don't use as much because my Kindle is just easier to use. Its also nice to have multiple devices so they can be passed around if the bigs forget their iPhone or the littles forget to bring "their" Kindle HD.

I don't carry mine with me, regularly. I guess I'd ask you, why would you want to carry it with you everywhere? What do you think you'd do with it?

My ipad is primarily used for playing on. There's nothing important that I'd need to carry around with me.

I may take it with me if I'm going to a doctors appointment and expect a long wait, but probably not since I have an iphone that is enough entertainment. Coupons and stuff (like Target Cartwheel) I use on my phone.

I don't feel the need to take a larger tablet anywhere. I do travel with it, but I have so much other stuff when I travel that it's a minimum amount of extra weight.
