Just wondering!

I don't buy magazines because of a particlar star but if there's an article I'll read it. In the same magazine if there's an article on cookware, I'll read that too.

I pretty much care zero about celebs. I will say that I am inherently nosey, and sometimes I will read, if I have nothing to do and am waiting at the check out line but that is about it. I pretty much have zero respect for them and so I really don't care what they are doing.

Yes, I do. I'm an entertainment junkie (mostly movies but I do have a handful of TV shows that I really like). I average two to three movies a week.

The industry intrigues me. And I spend so much of my free time "with" these people that it interests me to know about them personally. I don't read gossip sites. Those bother me. But I do catch up on legitimate sources. I subscribe to Entertainment Weekly and frequently will read People. People dot com is my homepage.

It's another one of those things that I don't understand why it bothers people. I don't care if you don't care... so why do you care that I do? (Not directing that to the OP... just to those in general who will say "who cares" if someone mentions that so-and-so died or whatever).

Do I care about celebs??? If it means do I follow everything they do and wait to see who they will vote for and what they are wearing/buying etc, then my answer is NO. If it means could I successfully navigate my way through a pop culture trivia game then YES, absolutely!

I care for Paul McCartney. I'm aware that I don't know him and that he has no idea I exist, but his music, with and without The Beatles has been such a great source of joy and comfort in my life that I can't help but love him for it.

Having said that, I don't buy celebrity magazines and very rarely watch celebrity gossip shows. I used to be a big cosumer of both things when I was a teenager; but now browsing those magazines at the checkout line is enough.

Sometimes I'm curious about some stories, but I'm not a big follower. And reality TV "stars"? I only know about them what is posted here on the Dis.

And i really dont care when they die;)

Those super sad DIS posts-

Celebrity ABC has died!
And the responses-I remember when i saw their FIRST movie!

(Who cares????)

-kinda crack me up:confused3:lmao:

I don't subscribe to those threads but your post is cold. :confused3 Could you not have just posted on the poll? I know, I could have resisted responding to you as well.

I love celebrities! its a huge guilty pleasure. I read entertainment weekly and people cover to cover every week, but i also love them for the music/books/movie coverage too. im a pop culture junkie and proud! doesn't bother me if people don't care, so it shouldn't bother anyone else that us junkies do care :)

About as much as they care about me.

It's not that I "care" about celebrities but reading or watching what they do is a form of entertainment in itself.

nope, I have zero interest in them. I can pick up any celeb type magazine and have no clue as to who any of the people are. Don't know their name, most of them even if I had heard their name I could not pick them out if you paid me.

To each their own interests. I can scan the tree tops while driving down the highway and see many hawks perched on the trees and I know many don't know or care about birdwatching!!

I don't care in the least. HOWEVER, if I don't put celebrity news in my newscasts, I'll hear from a lot of people who feel differently than I do.

I can't tell you how many angry calls were got the day after the election because ABC covered President Obama's news conference, instead of airing "The View".

I don't know why it would bother anyone if you cared either. I did care at one time, but now, I just don't. that doesn't mean I won't read the headlines in the grocery store, but i don't actively search it out. I don't watch ET and I don't read people. But hey people do and that is ok.

At one time I could have told you about every celeb out there and every musician out there, now I barely know who any of them are. I have become my mother.

I picked other. I don't follow any celebs in the news or anything, but if something catches my interest, I'll read about it and be curious about it. But I'm really no more curious about the lives of celebrities than I am about other people's lives.

I care about whatever movie they're in and whether it's getting good reviews or not. Or if they are in music, I care about new CD's and concerts and TV appearances and such things. If they push a cause or some policitical view, I'll listen to them just as I would anyone else. Other than that, what they do is none of my business. I never understand the fascination some people have with celebrities' private lives and I refuse to give any money to support the papparazzi. I detest those people.

I'm a big fan of people with talent. As Moon stated, if it's Paul McCartney or someone with phenomenal talent, I'm interested. As for people who are celebrities because they're rich/drunk, etc. not so much.

I voted other: I care about what celeb's are doing professionally, because it might be something I want to experience or avoid completely. For example, if Bono does some side project, or gets himself injured and puts the U2 concert on hold, I want to know about it. If it is something personal, I don't care.
