Do you call MS to make room requests?

I started doing online check in for our BCV stay but the options for requests were near transportation or highest floor. We want to request pool view. Do I call MS for this? Do you call the resort as well a few days beforehand?

MS can add room requests onto the reservation. This is usually what I do

You can contact MS by phone, e-mail or chat to add a room request.
If you do one of the three, do NOT put in any room request when you do online check-in. The online check-in requests override any put in by MS.

I have only done emails. However, I have been 0 for 3 for requests. Sometimes I even wondered if making requests made it worse for us. At OKW, I asked to be near HH, but got a villa about as far away as it gets. At AKV, I asked for lower floor, but got the top floor. At HHI, I asked to be near the pool, but got no where near it.

We are unlucky with room requests too, even going back to when our only options were to call in.

At OKW, ‘near HH’ is a separate category that you need to make at the time you make your reservation. It’s not extra points, but because a lot of people request it, they made it a separate category.

Never actually requested rooms, but have requested locations/buildings. The last few trips, I pretty much got what I requested.

We just use the on-line check in selections. We have been very fortunate to get rooms close to our requests, or in one case an upgrade to 2 BR BLT Lake View. We are of the mind set that every room has aspects that can be special, if you just look for it. Even our 'worst' room has been great with a positive mind-set. Just keep it clean and ready at our check-in time. Coffee on the balcony has never disappointed me.
