Do YOU by Boar's Head cold cuts?

Boar's Head is one of the brands whose meats and cheeses are gluten free so yes we do spend the extra money because it's the only type of cold cuts my dad and I can eat.

I ONLY buy Boars head. I have tried other brands and they are not as good and store brands get downright slimy and gross, can't stand them.

I rarely buy cold cuts. When I do I buy them from the Italian store.

What is so good about Boars Head?

Same here.We don't have Boars Head:confused3 ..I just go to the Italian Deli, and to be quite honest, I don't even know the brand names..Just slice it up please, and that is that..

I normally won't let DD eat lunch meat because of the preservatives, but since Boar's head has none I can use them in her lunches. Either them or the Hormel Organic, but that's hard to find.

Boars Head is good, but not sold many places around here.

I don't usually buy lunch meat. If I do, it's roast beef from the Mom and Pop store down the street. They make their own roast beef. It's excellent, and usually only 3.99/lb. Other than that, we're leftovers for lunch people. :)

When we're down in Florida, I also only buy Boar's Head, although I've never side by side taste tested them vs. Brand X. Basically, I'm a real sucker for the "If it's more expensive, it's got to be better" school of thought. I hate cost comparison shopping and it drives my wife crazy!

I buy Boar's Head reduced sodium turkey breast on occasion. I've only found Boar's Head at Farm Fresh in SE VA. I won't buy deli meats in any of the other stores around here. I think Kroger uses Sara Lee. Sara Lee cold cuts? Tasted horrible! Never bought it again after the first experience. I'll buy the horribly "loaded with preservatives" turkey that's pre-packaged before buying in another deli. I guess I was pushed into Boar's Head when Publix made the switch years back. Prior to that they carried Butter Ball, and I was happy with their turkey. Now it just doesn't taste right, and I stay away from that, too.

We buy Boar's Head at Kroger. We buy store brands on some items, so I don't mind paying more for a premium product. BTW, if someone had told you they were starting a line of deli items to be marketed under the name "Boar's Head" would you have told them "what a great name!":confused3

I buy decent brands, and Boar's Head when on sale, but really, I get most of my cold cuts at Costco.... Kirkland Brand or Hillshire Farms.

I'm not a huge fan of Boar's Head. I buy all of our cold cuts at a small Italian deli, and their Turkey and Roast Beef is store cooked, and absolutely the best. Alot of their hams/bologna's is Dietz and Watson (I believe) and it's good as well.

For everyday lunch meat, we buy the Kirkland brand ham from Costco -- yum! I also buy cold cuts for Muffalettas for our annual Mardi Gras party, and then I buy either Deitz & Watson or Boar's Head, depending on which store I get to. Honestly, though, it's not a brand choice; they were the only brands of cappacola and mortadella I could find.

Boar's Head is so expensive, I only buy it when there's a really good sale. IMO it doesn't taste all that different from other brands. I do like the fact that it doesn't have all the preservatives though.

I also buy Dietz and Watson, it is a local brand.
I like Dietz and Watson too, most of our local stores carry it. Only one store near us carries Boars Head. Cold cuts are one grocery item I'm willing to spend more $$ on, most other item's I'll buy whatever is on sale.

I generally don't buy deli meats if I can help it because I think they are overpriced and not particularly healthy. I would never pay $10/lb for them.

Next time you buy cold cuts make the deli person give you a sample of each first ;) . When it comes to food, I don't like to comparison shop either. I don't care if it's $10.00 more a pound, just give me what I like, which is why I get different brands.

I wish I could find Mother Goose liverwurst. It doesn't seem like anyone sells it around here anymore :sad2: . I've tried other brands but didn't care for them.

I love the Boar's Head Ovengold turkey and their roast beef. Only brand I will buy.
