Do YOU by Boar's Head cold cuts?

I like Thumans deli meats and I can only buy it at BJ's warehouse. Thumans have no MSG and lower in sodium than most brands. Boars Head is good but not for the price.

Thumans here too on the off chance I actually buy cold cuts. My kids are not big sandwich eaters. I buy All natural turkey breast weekly though. It has no preservatives and is fresh baked at the store.

The only thing at the deli we ever buy is turkey and different cheeses. I have tried other brands of turkey, and they just are not as good as Boar's Head. So we buy it. In fact, I just came home from Publix a little while ago and bought some Boar's Head Ovengold turkey. It is delicious and a small splurge I make in a sea of budgeting.

We like Kroger's Private Selection Mesquite Turkey Breast.

we do not buy deli meat often, but when we do it's always Boars Head...also love the Boars Head Franks.

I normally won't let DD eat lunch meat because of the preservatives, but since Boar's head has none I can use them in her lunches. Either them or the Hormel Organic, but that's hard to find.

I buy boars head if the Hormel natural/organic or Applegate farms isn't available

Mmmmmm... Boar's Head Maple Glazed Ham! Yep, worth $9 a pound! :thumbsup2

I guess I am one of the last people on earth who still consider a nickel, "money", and its bad enough that roast beef at the deli is on SALE for $6.79 per pound. But does anyone actually spend $10 a pound for sliced Boars Head roast beef at the deli? Or $8.99 for sliced chicken? I buy that when it is on sale for $5.99. Maybe because I am buying for at least 5 people when I grocery shop but I can't imagine spending that much on cold cuts.

They're expensive, but they are SO worth it. Seriously - there is NO comparison between Boars Head and any other brand. Just one time, buy 1/4 pound (or less if they let you), just to try it.

We don't buy it regularly, but when we want the occasional "treat", it's worth the extra money.

Call me a Boar's Head snob, but it's the only brand we buy. We do buy the Publix brand deli cheese, but that's it. To us, the quality is more important than the cost.

At our Publix, they will give you a sample.

Only buy Boar's Head and Thumann's here, but I like Boar's Head the most. It is by far the most flavorful cold cut out there. Nothing even comes close.

We only buy turkey and I used to buy Boars Head until I found Diestel Natural. It's all natural, low sodium and it's honestly the best turkey I've ever tasted. It's a couple dollars more per pound than Boars Head and worth every penny.

We buy Boars Head Turkey Breast . . .mainly. Depending on sale prices we'll also buy their ham, salami and bologna. Land o Lakes cheese is the only cheese we'll buy. I only buy 1/2 lbs of cold cuts, so the cost isn't that bad and we only will eat them once a week.

If you're going to spend the $$$ on Boar's Head (or other premium cold cuts), you might consider buying a roast and slicing it yourself. It's less expensive. An electric meat slicer doesn't cost much. The downside: Having no preservatives, it won't last more than a couple days. When I find roasts for a good price, and I freeze "sandwich meat" in 1/2 pound bags.

Sandwich meat should not cost more (per pound) than the meat you put on your dinner table!

No way can I believe "all cheese is cheese". If your "cheese" comes in an individual cellophane wrapper, it's NOT cheese at all. Take a look at Kraft SINGLES -- note that nowhere on the package is the product called cheese. It's NOT cheese at all. It's mostly vegetable oil -- hardly a healthy product; in fact, it's not even dairy. If you buy the more expensive stuff that's sliced but not individually wrapped (i.e., Kraft Deluxe or other brand), then you're getting sandwich cheese.

I buy Dietz & Watson, no antibiotics, all natural etc.
We eat sandwiches a couple of times a week for lunch so I don't have to buy a lot like you would. They are pricey but delish, I like them better than Boars Head.

Yes I buy the honey maple ham and the oven gold turkey. I only buy about 1/2 lb. each because the ds usually buy lunch at school. I have tried store brand turkey but it was way too salty and I did used to get a different ham but then the store stopped stocking it and my kids didnt like the taste of others I tried. I get a little roast beef or corned beef once in a while for myself. If the store had a different brand I would try it.

I mostly buy Boars Head now, also because of it not having broth and other stuff it's coated in. I like the roast beef, and that is the beef I usually buy.

I feel it's healthier, so I don't mind paying a little more. A sandwich with BH is still a lot cheaper for me than eating out.

Yep, boars head corned beef and D&W London broil roast beef. :thumbsup2 Boars head for most other lunch meats too (just Dietz and Watson Roast beef is better.)

I don't normally by a pound at a time, but a 1/2 pound. Tends to go bad fast if you buy too much.

Boars Head is the ONLY ColdCuts I will buy! :thumbsup2 I tried the other brands...simply no comparision!
I have to drive 10 miles to to get them too!

On of my all time favorite things in the world is Boars Head Liverwurst!!:goodvibes

We probably buy 85% Boars head here. As much as I am a bargain shopper, I am guaranteed that the family will eat all of the Boars Head (and the Seltzer Lebanon Bologna). I buy the publix roast beef, though. It is seasoned better.

Sweetbay introduced a house brand of premium cold cuts and I was rather impressed with the ones we tried. It's nearly as expensive as Boars Head, and they have really focused on quality.

As I said, final deciding factor is if there aren't any sandwich meats sitting in the drawer going bad. The boars head keeps running out. :thumbsup2 We buy either a 1/2 pound or 1/3 pound of three meats each week and it's plenty for sandwiches all week. When you figure sandwiches out at Panera go for 6 bucks, I'll gladly pay 2 bucks for 8 good french burger buns (publix bakery rocks) and pile on exactly what I want. I think it works out to less than $1.50 a sandwich-can't beat that going out to eat. Plus, there's never a leftover in their lunchboxes-before we consistently bought Boars Head, we'd have half sandwiches nearly daily.

I'm wondering if we're in the same house. With two college aged sons and their friends I can go through enormous amounts of deli-meat. I am always amazed when I see somebody request a certain thing, not caring that it's 10. per pound. But that's because that would last fifteen minutes in my house now.
But there are some meats I won't buy. I shop at shop-rite. So I buy their executive turkey breast whenever it's on sale. I will buy most better hams. There is almost no deli beef I think is good. It all tastes too processed to me.
