Do you buy trip insurance?

Speaking of insurance reimbursements.....
DH and I became sick during our WDW land stay, so when we reached the Wonder, we were very ill. My bout of strep throat cost me a visit with the ships MD (Dr. Bernie) and antibiotics - a total of $165.70.

This was filed with my insurance in mid December.
It is now nearing the end of March and I still have not been reimbursed although it's "being processed" by Blue Cross/Blue Shield!!!

Can you imagine what an outlay of more money would do to a person's budget?!

There must be a problem with the processing of your claim. In January 2002, our DS visit to the infirmary onboard the Magic was processed within days of turning in the paper work upon our return. I would call the customer service of your BCBS and inquire upon the staus of your claim. It shouldn't take more than a week to process and post to your account.

Most Blue Cross and Blue Shield policies will reimburse you for covered expenses that occur out of the country. Of course, this does vary from policy to policy.

In the U.S. Virgin Islands, Governor Juan F Luis Hospital in St Croix and Roy L Schneider Hospital in St Thomas are BlueCard Worldwide Hospitals.

I followed your advise IrishCowboy and called them today. They said that they had to have additional paperwork from the company that provides the MD's on the ship and would "get back with me". She did say that I was covered 100% and not to worry.

Thanks for your help AND for all that other information - it's always wonderful to have a knowledgeable reply when we discuss things on this forum - take care and again, THANKS!!!!
