Do you buy all the pictures?

If you have a good digital camera, simply take a picture of the screen where your picture shows up, take it home, crop it and print it. Works everytime for us. I figure if I'm going to spend $3k to stay there, eat and get in the parks, they should at least lower the prices of pictures, it's a ripoff!!!! This also works on cruises as well.

Last March, we went to WWOS to see a Braves' spring training game. The photographer roaming the stadium could be described as "Perky". She came to us & asked if 2 DSs wanted to pose. I was ready to say no, but DH & DSs said yes before I reacted. It's a great picture of the two boys and since oldest DS is 16, it's hard to get him to smile & pose. It included a plastic frame & I think it was $20 (but I could be wrong) but well worth it since it is sitting next to me, on my work desk, & makes me smile whenever I look at it!

We have bought the Chef Mickey one, Main St. one and the Buzz and Woody one each of the last 2 years.

We just get 1 5x7. It's around $13 and comes with a paper frame (chef mickeys also included a pic of the Mouse one year and the whole gang the next.) We always say if we want more we'll just scan and print them, but so far we have not felt the need to do so.

If we remember we always go look at them but are able to pass on some of them. We have never bought a ride one.

I agree with the digital camera thing. You can see if you have a good pic. We did pics with Sorcerer Mickey at MGM and they gave us a ticket to see the pic later, but the one on my digital was so good we did not even bother to look at that one.

LOL - as I sit and admire all our pictures, the phone rings and it a CM at Meadow's Trading Post at Ft.W. Apparently DH bought pictures at SplashMtn. and Test Track(with frame) and had them sent to the resort. I never knew this so I didn't pick them up and he's so forgetful he'd never remember.LOL

They are already paid for so now we have to pay for shipping. I will be eager to see these pictures. As the CM was decsribing them she said there was a blond lady, child and man. I never rode either of these rides, so it looks like DH has a new girlfriend!

BTW, we did use our own digital camera the whole week and took over 300 photos, with more than half turning out pretty good, quite a few great ones. Gotta love the digital camera, keep clicking and keep the good one!

Now that I know when the photo is being take we pose for it. Fake scared on Dino, bored (looking at watch or pretending to be asleep) on RNRC that sort of thing. If they come out well I buy them.

DH always buys a few while we are there....We get the photo on Splash Mtn, Tower of Terror and Test Track. They make nice souvenirs....

The only two my mom and I bought on our last trip in November were from Splash Mountain, where my mom is cringing (I don't know why), and Dinosaur, where we are both cowered against each other, they are both hilarious photos!!!

Regarding the pictures taken on some of the rides, how much do they cost?

I usually buy the really good ones or the ones with all of us. I am a sucker for any good photo and we hardly have any in them with all of us.

I am excited to see what ones we will get this year.

Last trip, we bought the pictures of us with Sorcerer Mickey at MGM and we were given the pictures of me when I finally got to meet Mickey Mouse for the first time at Studio M. This was our first time doing the professional photo thing. I will be buying more this trip. I love those pictures. Mickey

We buy them when they turn out nicely. We still haven't gotten a nice MK one yet, but there's always next time! :p

I bought the ones taken at Blizzard Beach, one floating in the creek and one after one of the raft rides. I really liked them, they were good of DH and I. I had gotten over my phobia of being out in public in my swimsuit by then  and hadn't brought by camera, didn't want to get it wet.
I have several taken over the years on Splash Mtn and am in the process of making a scrapbook page with them. They are all with different groups of friends and family and I love looking at them.

It depends on who's in them and whether it's a good photo or not. We had never bought a photo from Dinosaur, until we had the four of us plus my parents riding together - I'm not sure we'll ever get my mom back on that one. She says she's definitely never going on TT again, so the one we have from that ride is also a "must-have"! We agree that they're great souveniers, better than T-shirts, and about the only way to get a photo of all of us together at once. Wish they took your photo on Mission: Space, so I could prove to my family that I rode it after I come in September without them!

We've only bought a few over the years. One by the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom and when we were in the Jammin' in the Jungle parade at AK.

If my husband goes on a ride that I know he will never go on again, we will buy the picture because that look of terror on a grown man's face is PRICELESS!:smooth:

We buy the ones that turn out good. Even when taking pictures along side with my camera, they never seem to come out as well as the ones Disney takes. We always seem to spend about $100 each trip on 'official' Disney pictures.
:)

Since it is always just the two of us, DH and I find it hard to get pictures with both of us in them. So we just ask others and standing around looking pitiful works also. Most people don't seem to mind. We've gotten some good ones with our camera that way. We also return the favor when we see others who look like would like to have everyone in the photo.
We the Disney photographers are taking the pics, they always take one with my camera also.

Enjoy those memories!!

Can someone please explain to this newbie how to find the photographer at the park entrances? Is he always there, and will we run into him, or do we have to go somewhere and sign up? Also, how long is it until you can pick the photos up? Thanks!

The photographers are around the entrances to MGM and Epcot. At MK they are all along Main Street USA. If they don't approach you first, then just go up to them and say "Hey, please take our picture".

The photographer will give you a card with a number on it. He(or she) will tell you the soonest time that you will be able to view the picture.
