Do you bring your pillow?

I think I win the prize for "best try at humiliating myself". I sleep with a bodypillow. :p You KNOW my DH is a gem when you see him carrying in my pillow without a complaint. I love that man!:teeth:

Oogieboogie.........I always bring a fan too (if it's for more than one night). Gotta have that air circulation and that white noise.

He..he..he... you should see us the last time we drove up to BC... 5 pillows, 1 body pillow, 1 fan, 1 cooler, 2 suitcases, 4 noodles, 1 beach bucket & pail, 1 computer bag... I swear... it looked like we were moving in to the BC! The pillows alone took up half the luggage cart space!:teeth:

If I have my own pillow I can sleep anywhere...I did purchase some airtight plastic storage bags that removes all the air from the pillows...takes them down to about a inch in width...great for transporting them in luggage.

Great idea! I was thinking about how I was going to get my pillows in my luggage as we will be flying. I use down pillows and the airtight bags will probably really flatten them out ! Now I can bring even more pillows !!! Thanks for the idea ;)

Glad to see we're not all alone! I always bring my pillow and my fleece blanket on every trip, and a fan for "white" noise, too! I sleep very poorly without them. I drive or take the AutoTrain so it's no problem to bring them. I also bring them on the AutoTrain with me, since Amtrak has tiny pillows! :)

I think i'm taking my own pillow w/my Stitch pillowcase on my next trip- the pillows at WDW are kinda flat. I'll have to get some of those space bags. -Steph

i have to have a "squishy" pillow to sleep, not solid foam. if the hotel/resort doesn't have them, and i've flown, i go buy one; cheaper than not sleeping

We fly and always bring our pillows.

The way I see it, they can wash the sheets, blankets and bedspreads, also the mattress covers. But I'm not sure how frequently they can toss the pillows in the wash. Sorry - this may sound weird, but I don't know where your head has been, and more germs get emitted from noses and mouths than I care to know.

I used to get sick during and/or after every trip until I started bringing my own pillow. Not sure if the two are related, but now not willing to find out.

Also, my bare feet have never touched a hotel floor or carpet.

Yes, I bring my pillow whenever and whereever I go on vacation. I have a flat and squishy one, and find that at most places the pillows are too plump or, worse, all plastic-y. I don't think housekeeping will snicker.

Here I thought I was the only one. I always pack two pillowcases for DH and me plus I bring our lightweight duvet. I have this thing about my own bedding. It is so worth it to me to get a good night's sleep. Only exception might be if we stayed at the Swan or Dolphin, Heavenly triple sheeted beds sound, well, heavenly!

Definately! Whether WDW or business trip. Sleep much better although still not good on first night as someone else posted.

Although I tell myself that if luggage gets too full on the return, I'll have to leave my pillow behind. Can always be replaced once home.

Have left my pillows in New York hotel and in San Francisco!

I used to bring my pillow everywhere - until I LEFT it at ASSp one time and it wasn't found by housekeeping. It is gone, gone, gone. Oh the horror!

Anyways - when we go anywhere I have one suitcase devoted to sheets because DS is allergic to any fabrics but cotton so we need them on every surface he gets near, blankets, and DS's stuffed friends and pillows. My mom thinks it's crazy, but then she saw pictures of my baby's face all blotchy and red and rashy from the Wyndham sheets and she hasn't complained again!

I will never be a light packer!

My husband brings his pillows and his blankets. He likes the thin waffle blankets - can't handle the heavy blankets on hotel beds. (We keep the house at 68º year round.) Me and the kids have to bundle up at night, so the hotel blankets are ok with me as long as I remember not to get them near my face. I don't trust that everything is really, really clean in hotel rooms no matter where I am.

He left his pillow at HHI once, and we called them on the way home to tell them we had forgotten it. It was sent FedEx next day at no charge to us. So I don't really worry about leaving things in the room. Maybe it was exceptional service because it was a DVC resort, but we appreciated it all the same.

I never thought about it until I married DH. Now after 8 1/2 years, we both never leave home without our pillows! I've also watched way too many of those hotel cleanliness shows:rolleyes: .
Even if we are going to a relatives home, we still take our own pillows- can't sleep without it now!princess:

We always have a suitcase devoted to pillows. DD's with her hypoallergenic pillowcase, my 2 pillows, and DH's anti-snoring pillow. It is the kind that ensures proper neck alignment.

I bring pillows and blankets. Ever since I saw the 20-20 Special about how the hotels do not wash the blankets and bed covers between occupants, I have done this. I realize that they have a sheet under the blanket, but I like to wrap up in a blanket and knowing that it is my own blanket helps me sleep so much better. ;)
