yes always have. If it is a short weekend someplace that we have been then no. But if it somewhere special, yes.
My kid will do this on field trips. they will get something for bros or siss gma, gdad. But never us (mom or dad)

I bring back for my 2 neices, DS's closest playmates (3 kids - he sees everyweek), and something really good for my Mom, who babysits the dogs. I might pick up gifts for other people but I keep them for Christmas or birthdays.

The grandparents really prefer to have a special picture and hear the kids stories. They don't need or want more stuff and they don't wear t-shirts.

Maybe some chocolate covered pretzels and peanuts for my mom and her boyfriend since they watch our dogs but no one else.

We go every year. I can't see bringing something back for someone every trip, seems like a waste of our vacation time.

Last time we went we bought for my inlaws, my mom, my nephew, and I got my boys preschool classes all mickey suckers.

I rarely buy anything on vacation - I hate shopping so I certainly don't want to do it on vacation! I don't even want "souveniers" from my trip so it's hard to believe anyone else would.

We buy for parents, nephews and close friends never anything much just a keyring or pens. The kids usually get a small teddy

our first couple of trips to wdw we did, but not anymore. we go away a few times a year, and it would be too much and get out of hand. plus i noticed i was the only one in our extended family who did this, so i stopped. it's really not necessary, unless someone is doing you a favor while you're away.

We sent postcards to the nieces, nephews, grandparents, and 2 of DDs friends.

Grandparents got a 4 x 6 photo from the CRT and Akershus packages.

On my side (we have a lot of involvement with my nieces and nephews) they all got little gifts. Mostly things from Disney.com Outlet that we had delivered to the room (we live in Canada so this was a treat). I think we spent $12 per kid for 5 kids.

On DH's side, we did the same thing, but are using the items for Birthday/Xmas gifts for the kids. We are not as close to his side, but still wanted to get the kids a little something from WDW.

Me too! I might buy a tshirt every now and again for my kids, who are on the actual vacation, but why would someone else want a souvenier from MY vacation? :confused3 Usually just a bunch of junk.

No. The only time we did was when a friend asked us to specifically purchase an item for their son for Christmas and handed us the money to use. It was only a small plush, so we agreed...anything larger we would have politely declined.

My FIL has multiple timeshares and thus travels the world - he is constantly bringing back little trinkets from his travels for us...DW doesn't have the heart to ask him to stop for not wanting to offend him, but WE didn't go to Greece, Australia, Egypt, etc, etc - and have no sentimental attachment to the "stuff" - we just took a box full of tacky coasters, decorative plates, wrong sized t-shirts and the like to Goodwill. We don't want it, and we don't assume other people want trinkets from our vacations either. Not to sound too harsh, because "it's the thought that counts" - but they aren't OUR memories, but his.

We usually bring back a small treat for our nieces princess: princess: princess: from WDW, with the kids picking out for their cousins. When we spent two weeks in Hawaii, we brought back for the nieces, DD's 3 best friends and the two kids who watered our plants and took in the mail. The only other purchases would be gifts for birthdays or Christmas.

We used to...for a lot of friends and family...
but...it took a lot of time, effort and energy, and money!
I'm very thoughtful so I really put a lot of myself into it.
But it was usually unappreciated and finally asked myself why I was doing this. And not that we ever expected reciprocity, but never even got a postcard from most we buy for when they travel. So now we focus on our own kids and selves now instead. Especially when you have to pay to check luggage now! :)

We used to get parents, in-laws, nieces, etc. but not anymore. I might get something now if someone is doing something special at home for us. It really depends. I would say no though now.

As far as regular vacations go, no. We don't get gift for anyone unless it's something small that perhaps they might collect. (My mom collects bells from everywhere) When we went to Disney however, we spent a few hundred dollars buying for family AND friends. That was our first trip. For our next trip we are not going to buy for anyone but ourselves. maybe that sounds selfish, but we saved our money and made sacrifices to go, so we get to reap the rewards. :-) Now, if someone sends money for us to get something for them, no problem.

I send everyone postcards when we go, but don't bring back gifts. If I do its because I saw something that would make a great birthday or Christmas gift and I'll save it until then.
