When DH and I went our honeymoon (cruise) we brought a plug in glade scent (hawaiian breeze) that also had a night light. It worked great since the cabin was dark. I was looking around the dollar general the other day and they have some tropical scents. We will be staying at CBR and wondered if I should pack it? We drove to our cruise and will be flying to the world....so I would need to have it in our checked bags. But has anyone else ever done this? Just wondering....I'm kinda on the fence with bringing it or not.

With all the reactions people have to scent, I would not bring scent into a hotel rooms.

I think that it would be a fun thing to do. After you are home and smell the same scent, it will remind you of Disney. :thumbsup2

we don't bring a plug in - we bring in a pillow mist spray from bath & body works - the euc/spearmint which helps out our breathing - we don't spray it on anything in the room - we spray on the towels or washcloths & then put the towels on our pillows - it evaporates quickly but helps w/the sleeping

Yes we pick up one of the spray scents at Publix when we do our grocery shopping on arrival.

Makes our room smell great!! :thumbsup2

In Feb. got a room spray with our Garden Grocer delivery. I also have a Yankee Candle travel tin that I used when we were there in March. DH could care less.

Over Christmas holiday we couldn't open the balcony door (too much noise), so our Bonnet Creek room became funky with coffee and onion and I didn't have room freshener that trip. (:crazy2: Blech!)

yes we do, since I have asthma it has to be a very soft light smell its nice to walk into a nice smelling room very relaxing :thumbsup2

I'm glad I'm not the only one. After thinking more (after I posted this) I don't think I'm going to bring the plug in....I would rather bring something that I can toss afterwards and give me one more little inch of Disney treasures to bring home. LOL. I do think I'm going to go with a tropical scent since we are staying at CBR. Can't wait....20 days to go....

I wonder if the smells would linger after the rooms are cleaned? Both my boys react very strongly to those air refresher and scented candles. They would both cough the rest of the trip. I would have no problem with others using them as long it does not effect our trip!

I don't....but just because I think if everyone did sooner or later the rooms would smell like a horrible combination of everyone's different scents LOL

In my experience the scent lingers even after the room is cleaned. Housekeeping has told us about having to put rooms "out of service" to air out after scent has been used. And candle use also causes problems with scent and other damage. (The cleanup after a candle set off the sprinklers:scared1:).

I tend to get migraines from artificial scent, so no.

I've had to be moved in hotel rooms because of someone's scents coming through the ventilation system from the room next door.

I picked up this from Pier 1. Planing on using it on my up coming trip. I know some people are sensitive to scents. But I can't stand that stale smell in hotel room. Going to pack it in a zip lock bag inside a small plastic container for the plane ride!

Ugh... that scent has always given me the WORST headaches. I used to work for them and I couldn't go near that area due to this scent. It is horrid.

Which goes to show that people shouldn't be using those sorts of things in a hotel room. It is not that person's home and could have an impact on other guests.

LilyWDW that's not the sent I bought. I was just showing what the gel container looks like.

This whole scent thing is kinda funny. What I gather from reading all the different threads on DIS it looks like a lot of us "do" things we should never do in hotel rooms. Cooking in crock pots, bringing toasters and toaster oven...... I think I'd rather smell a fresh scent then some smelly food cooking or burnt toast..... Just saying :goodvibes
