Just wondering how often everyone else finds themselves borrowing points from the following use year. We just did an add on last spring to help eliminate borrowing, however, it seems it has really just encouraged me to want to bring more friends/family with us on trips. So here I am thinking about borrowing again as I contemplate our next trip......Oh well, maybe our BLT contracts will really end up being 49 years.

Did borrow for the first time last year but added on to avoid doing it in the future (as if that really solves the problem:rotfl:)

Voted "Rarely" which is to say, "Exactly once" since purchase in May 2004.

Situation: We purchased SSR in its first year and our account was started with 0 "current year" points; first points coming Oct 2004. Our first DVC trip on points was Aug 2004 at Vero Beach -- booked on points borrowed from our very first Oct allocation. (Lots of "firsts" in this brief write-up!)

We've banked every year since.

We sometimes need to borrow points to finish a reservation, and in the case of our AKV contract, we use banking and borrowing of entire years points to use 3 years worth of points at once.

LOL. I'm a chronic borrower. We purchased enough points to go every year for 6 days. we have yet to be at Disney for only 6 days. One of these days I'll add on but with kids in college, it seems like I'm destined to continue borrowing.

We have been borrowing since we became members in 2008. We just did our third add on and I think we finally have enough to stop borrowing every year.

We have two use years. When we make a reservation at the 11 month window we end up borrowing points from our second use year due to timing. It's a technicality. By the time we take our trip we are in the current use year of our second contract.

Since I have six home resorts but only take 4 trips a year, I'm always borrowing and banking points.

We have two contracts of roughly equal number of points and different UYs. So we borrow on one contract and bank the other every year. So we're like Mike (except for about 900 points) in that we bank and borrow every year.

We probably need 1 more add on contract to stop our borrowing, but even then I'm sure we will just go even more. It will be several years before we add on again.

Sometimes we have unexpected trips which cause for borrowing. (Well not so unexpected, but not something not planned more than 4 months from going) We had 2 this year, DL over spring break and our HHI trip next week. So now we are borrowing for 13 day trip to WDW in next May and will probably borrow some points for a short stay before and after our DCL Cruise in Nov.

We figure there will eventually be years that we do not go to WDW, so we will eventually be caught up. Probably not the best way to utilize our points, but it works for us. DH and I will be in our 80's when our AKV and VGC contracts expire, so I'm sure there will be a year that we don't go. For now, we have young kids making memories!

We have been members since 1992. We have borrowed on occasion, but we usually do more banking than borrowing.

I usually bank but have borrowed the past two years in order to book at BLT at the 11 month window. I've been tempted to purchase a few more points before the increase to eliminate that need but I really can't justify it as I always have a bunch of SSR points to bank each year.

We hope to always bank and use the current year, but we do have a family gathering planned for 2013. And if my extended family continues to grow (twins due in January), we might need more villas. But to date we have never borrowed.
