Do you book SW the second it becomes available?

If the fares look low, I'll buy. If they are high, I'll wait.

Come on, Southwest!! Show us some LUV!

Still waiting on WDW to offer FD for Sept., too. I'm hoping to feel the love there, too.

What is going on :headache: Where are the fares :furious:

Typically, they do a weekday release and it would happen at 11 am EST. Every once it a while, it would be there 1st thing in the am. I'm guessing with it being a Sunday, they would have employees start later in the morning or maybe even later.

I got up a 7 today just in case they open up early.

At release last Sept JB beat SW for spring break for us so that's what I booked. Been watching JB for August & they currently higher than what I paid for spring break (by about $100 for 3 ppl). Waiting for SW today to compare to JB. Biggest factor for us is with SW we can use BWI (preferred airport) VS Dulles (further & more expensive parking) so I have to figure in convenience & parking when I purchase... I know my target price would be no more than what I paid for spring break. Not sure if it's possible tho since all fares seem higher across the board now.:headache:

We fly SW all the time. I don't remember ever seeing fares come out on a Sun. I always remember Tues. release days.:confused3

There last one was on a Sunday too!

Personally, I prefer a Sunday release. I'm not at work now (where I'm not allowed on internet for personal use.) So I'm free to book as soon as they come out.
Of course, I don't want it to take up my whole Sunday. Ds wants to go sledding & dh is at my inlaws installing a new floor.
Sad, but the sledding has to wait a bit. :guilty:

I know the schedule is open through 8/10. Are they only extending through September?

SHOOT!! Prices are not too good, and it seems they greatly reduced the number of non-stop flights. What I decided to do is buy the flight to MCO because it's the only morning non-stop and I want to make sure we get that flight. I paid more than I wanted, but we arrive at 8:30 so that's a nice day at WDW.

I will wait and hope for better fares for our return flight.

ETA: With the price of oil going up again, maybe these are the low prices--yikes!

I was hoping for lower flight prices too :rolleyes1 I agree that they have been slowly reducing the number of non-stop flights recently, at least from the Manchester, NH airport

Yeah ...I think we'll remain in a holding pattern. If I had seen something around $250 R/T(total) I would have taken it ...but nothing even close for us .

Prices for us are $89 down and $135 back (ISP to MCO). Jet Blue, Delta, etc out of LGA or JFK are all MUCH more - upper $1200's-upper $1300 range for end of August. Then we would have to pay for bags, more for parking than at ISP. I want to jump on it but not sure - we haven't flown SW before - so not sure if they might go down - but the problem is DH isn't 100% sure we can go - almost definitely but not 100%. I see they say that you can rebook - but doesn't say when you have to fly by if you rebook. If we book now for August 2012 can we change it for say March or next summer or would we have to fly by Jan 22nd 2013?

MDW-Chicago to Orlando Aug 14th back August 25th is $110 each way. $241 RT after taxes.

I will wait for the lower fare. should be somewhere between $89 - $99 going and $94 - $109 home.

Give it a few weeks.

What you buy today will expire on 1/22/13. That means all travel involving these funds must be complete by then.

Bummer.:headache: SW prices are way high.:headache::mad: Cheapest one-way is $121 but that's for the crappy times and stops with stops. The better times & non-stops are $130 each way. Used to be could book round trip for $119 - $129!!:sad2:

Those days are long gone. We used to fly often for $49 each way to MCO & get dings for $39. I'm glad we went a lot then cuz my family is kind of parked out now & I don't feel so bad if we can't go for long weekends.
