Hi everyone.....
Never really been a believer and still not sure I believe but here is my story. Lost my Mom in March to a ruptured brain aneurysm. Last night (NYE) was her birthday. Anyway, we had a little party here at my house and had a blast doing dance central on Kinect. I took pics and uploaded them today. I couldn't help but wonder what the white orb is in the picture, it is covering a framed picture of my deceased mother. What do you make of this????

I love the idea of having a party for your Mom in remembrance of her, how nice. I do believe in these things but I also tend to believe a lot or regular explanations exist. Still, in your case I think it's nice to think your Mom was there with you. Why not, she could just as easily be with you as anywhere else.

BTW, I seriously think I see a smiley face in the white spot,if it's dust it looks like it's happy dust.:goodvibes

Thanks but we had our annual NYE party last night. I never thought for a moment it was my Mom there with us in spirit but so many others do. That same orb is in 2 other pics in the same room but in different locations. However, it is not there in any other pics from last night. Also in the other 2 it is not as bright at this one. Funny, I thought there was a smiley face in it too. :goodvibes I'm sure it is a coincidence but I'm still curious what others think of it. I'm trying to be more optimistic.;)

I do believe we move into another dimension, perhaps even layers, when we die. I wouldn't be very concerned about the orb since that could be just about anything, including spriit energy, but there are many other explanations for those things. In any case, we keep those we've lost close in our hearts and memories no matter where their spirits may reside.

I believe in ghosts and all that! And definitely aliens, although I get made fun of a lot for that :)

Well put George!!:thumbsup2

Nope, don't believe in the supernatural.

The white spot is probably a dust halo. It's actually pretty common with digital photos.

If you have 2 equal ways to view a thing and one makes you happy while the other does zero to improve your life, I will always go with happy:thumbsup2

I believe in a soul and some form of heaven and hell but I am not sure exactly what form those places will take. I do think though that when you die your soul immediately goes to the one for which it is destined. I don't think the soul sticks around in the form of a ghost. I also don't think those souls have any more connection to our world. I don't think our dead relatives can see us or hear us or anything.

I have no idea if I am right though and if the thought of communicating with dead relatives bring you (general you) comfort go for it.

In the picture in the OP I suspect the image is an imperfection on the lens (if it is in more than one picture) or a dust particle being illuminated.

That is likely dust in the photograph.

That being said, however, I definitely believe in the supernatural and hauntings. I've lived in houses with spirits in them on and off since I was 8 and I have talked with more than one of them!

It is entirely possible your mother was with you last night, but I think that was dust in the pics.

I cannot say for 100 percent sure, but I have seen some pretty weird stuff in my time. I have seen things I will never forget, and others in my family saw and heard the same things when we lived in a certain house. None of us have ever seen any of it since then.

I have watched my share of Paranormal State and Ghost Adventures for entertainment purposes, the results on those type shows are really underwhelming usually.

yes I do believe in ghosts and spirits. Lost my mom in March 2009 and ever since that day every once in a while I get a whiff of her perfume, the smell comes out of nowhere and then it's gone. Her perfume is very distinct, she wore Obsession. I don't wear any scent even close to that so I know it's not coming from me or my house(DD14 also wears nothing close to that scent-she likes the flowery teenager stuff).
A couple of times I also smelled in while in my car, I was in the car for a while, alone and suddenly there it was and then a minute later it's gone. I like to think of it as her way of just popping in to check on me.:)

I believe spirits and ghosts are all around us looking out for us. I lost my Grandmother over 12 years ago, and I occasionally feel her around me, and I can also her hear voice in my ear giving me her opinion whether I want to hear it or not, just like she did in life! lol Gotta love her!:goodvibes

I am in the camp of "it certainly could be". But I do believe that spirits are around us.

If it were me I'd simply enjoy it happening and not worry too much about what anyone else thinks. Keep your mind open and you may find there are more "coincidences" happening that relate to your mother. :goodvibes

Thank you......I know people keep telling me that my Mom is always with me and will always be looking over me but its not helping. The thought of never seeing her again is killing me. I don't believe in the "afterlife" that we will meet again. Im a HUGE pessimist and I wish I wasn't because I wouldn't be so miserable without her :sad1: I find zero comfort without her and think it will be a very long time before I am used to it.

I believe its possible. I'v never seen one and I dont want to-lol! I also get obs in my diningroom mostly. In your photo is a pretty big bright orb. Mediums say our loved one visit us and we should talk tot hem cause they can hear us. I dunno:goodvibes

Dust and water orbs are multiples, usually and they're very fine and all sized. Bugs are streaks of light on the picture.

Single round, defined orbs with patterns in them that are in well-kept, well-lit, indoor places are the unexplainable ones.

The only picture with an orb like that that I've ever taken with my good SLR was an insurance photo of a quilt I'd just bought. I picked it up from someone I knew garage saling. It's a gated flower garden with 12 stitches per inch, beautifully made. When I was driving home with the quilt, I was thinking to myself "so the lady that made it was a doctor's wife and she was in her first year of marriage when she. . ." and then it dawned on me, quite suddenly, that the person who'd sold me the quilt didn't know that, knew nothing of the quilt except that it was one from her family. But I KNEW everything about that quilt.

So I took it home, took my insurance photos, and in the first one there was a single, well-defined orb, just hovering over the quilt. The second one, snapped a 1/8th of a second after the first has no orb.

That camera had never taken an orby photo before and hasn't since.

(I would post a photo of my orb, but I lost my digital copy of that years ago and the only paper copy is in a box somewhere with insurance paperwork. . .sorry. I'm not looking it up, even if I should! I guess I really should re-photograph my quilts; I've added 2, one she made and one antique, from my mom since then!)

So, on this one, I'm inclined to believe that the orb is something.

I'm mixed on this topic. I have never had experiences to make me believe but several people I know have told me about things they experienced but could never explain.
