I completely believe in ghosts. I have had way too many experiences to post here!

I didn't use to believe in ghosts but then late one night I heard chains rattling and then a low moaning voice said, "funnel cakes killed me, I should have eaten Cotton Candy" Well that pretty much freaked me out, how about you? If you don't want to end up spooking some guy, stop by the Fair Food poll and vote for Cotton Candy. The best food for this life and the life here after.

You again - LOL!!! :teeth: :p

I don't know if I do or not. Never had an experience, so can't really say.

I have to admit, I do believe in ghosts. Every now and then I get a feeling that something is there. And then when I look nothing is there. But one time my window blind got pulled up by seemingly nothing...thats my ghost story! :teleport:

I believe.

Years ago, when we got the news that my DH's grandmother died (she was like a grandmother to me also), we, of course, were extremely upset. All of the sudden, this incredibly strong "feeling" came over me. It "said" to me not to be sad, it was OK, I can breath again. I sat there unable to feel anything else except this "presence". (His grandmother had emphasyma (spelling?) and was on oxygen since I met my DH.) I just remember the "feeling" being so strong. I have never experienced anything like it since.

I don't believe I've ever had a real experience, like most of you guys. For most of my life, I've believed, but been skeptical, until a girl told me that the Bible says that ghosts do exist. That definitely confirmed it for me. I looooove ghost stories, but I get creeped out so easily.

Just don't do what I tend to do and read the replies late at night - it's not good for my heart! :p ;)

Just thought I'd bump this for some halloween fun!:D

I don't believe in the dead coming back as ghosts, but I do believe that evil spirits take the form of the dead to trick people into thinking their dead loves ones are coming to visit them. I hope that makes sense.

Yes, I do believe. When things happen to YOU it is hard not to.

Ever since we moved into this house, we have had a feeling of a "presence" or "presences". When my ds was a year old, he would go to a corner of our dining room (and in baby talk) start chattering away while looking up at this one corner. We would always joke that Konnor was talking to the ghost again. After my dd was born, wouldn't you know it. She would go to that same corner and do the same thing. What really did it for me was when our niece who is just under two was over visiting, and did the exact same thing!

When my ds was 3, we had a mural painted in his room of all sorts of animals. One night he called out for us to come upstairs. My dh went up, and he was up there for awhile. He stayed with ds until he fell asleep. When dh came back downstairs, he said ds wanted to know who that man was standing beside his zebra! That was enough to freak me out. Then about a week later, a similar thing happened when he called us up to his room again, and asked why "all these people were in his room".

My dh and I constantly see shadows passing by in our hallway up the stairs. We both see them at the same time, and we have just grown to accept it. We have lived in this house for 7 years, and we just see the shadow, look at one another and smile and go back to whatever we were doing.

There's one that lives in our sorority house. Recently we've named her Patty. The things she does are harmless, so it's just merely a nuscience. She turns people computer screen sideways, rattles pipes till you yell to stop, etc. etc. It's still pretty scary!

Oh yes, most definately.

I have alot of ghost stories. And yes, they all happened to me.

Now, I'd be suspicious if it was just me but alot of these have happened around other people too. I've become so used to ghostly experiences that I never say anything anymore. Others will say something first when I've already noticed.

It started when I was very young.

This is going to be hard to talk about. Alot of these things happened in the house I'm in now where I'm sitting so it scares me a little right now to be writing it down. I try hard to ignore ghostly happenings around me but I find when I'm typing it out, its alot harder to ignore.

I am currently in my grandmother's house. I'm not the only one who has experienced things here. All of the cousins will confirm that its haunted though, for some reason, the elder's seem to STILL think we are imagining things.

1. When I was about 7 or 8 years old, two of my cousins, my sister and I, were in the living room of this house playing dolls. We all had cabbage patch dolls. The parents and the boys were outside.

I had pushed the chairs in the dining room as close to the table as they would go. That way we could play in the living room and the dining room and not run into anything.

What happened next was scarey. We all heard a scrape as though a chair in the dining room was moving along the floor and looked through the door. The chair moved, BY ITSELF, pulling out from the table and turning towards us. Then an imprint appeared in the seat as though someone just sat down to watch us. There was no one there.

We all screamed and ran from the house thinking the boys were playing tricks on us. Except that they weren't. My mother was sitting right next to the door and said she had been there for hours. No one had come in or out of the house.

2. Another night, my cousins, my sister and I, had set up candles in the hallway and were sitting down on the floor (it was dark and we thought it was kind of cool) talking when suddenly knocking on every door and window in the house happened at once. We were terrified.

Goddess, I hope the words I type here tonight don't wake whatever lays dormant in this house. Please please please.

Anyway...

3. I saw my grandfather standing on the landing when I was about 18 years old. He's been dead since before I was born. But he had no feet and the rest of him was see through.

4. My cousin has often heard his name called even though there is no one in the house.

5. When I was about 6 years old, my grandmother was doing her hair in the bathroom. I was in there with her, watching. I suddenly started hearing music. And not just any music, "Hi Ho" from Disney's Snow White. Commercial on the tv in the living room right? Nope. It was a Chrysler truck commercial. This happened (and I investigated) 3 times before I said anything to my grandmother. Of course, she didn't believe me. Why Disney music? Because my grandmother and grandfather LOVED Disneyland and had been to it no less than 7 times.

6. I've seen shadows (and so has everyone else except my grandmother for some reason) in this house. The form of a man.

7. By the far the most frightening had NOTHING to do with my grandfather. It was... something else.

I was in the living room playing at night. The adults were eating in the dining room. I looked up at the 8 foot picture window in my grandmothers living room and there was a FACE in the window. Someone peeking in right? Nope. It was at least 6 feet tall, green with pointed ears and slanted eyes and a very thin mouth. When I looked at it, it smiled and it had sharp fangs. I ran and got my parents but it was gone when we went back. I've since been told that this was a spirit that feeds on fear and since it had gotten what it wanted from me, it was gone (had a friend with knowledge).

This is not the only house I've experienced this in though.

Another house I lived in was most definately haunted. I know this for a fact because I wasn't the only one to experience things there. By the time these things happened, I was about 20 years old (hadn't moved out yet).

The most notable was the "Shadow man" (that's what I called him). I saw him most often in the hallway at night. He was 6 feet tall and wore a top hat. You could see his shoulders and the hat but his feet weren't there. He never did anything but for some reason, he was most often near my, or my mother's doorway. He was also completely see through and just seemed to be shadow. Darkness. Maybe a dense fog. I don't know how else to explain it.

I never talked about this to my family. It scared them when I mentioned ghosts. I just NEVER left my room at night (not that I think that was much safer) after a while.

Now it could be just dismissed by me being tired or having an active imagination.

But I wasn't the only one who saw him.

One night on Christmas Day, it was about 1 am when I got home (I had been at my new boyfriends for Christmas with his family). The computer was in my room and my mom was playing on the internet on it because she was bored. I never minded most of the time.

Tonight I came home and started talking to her about my day and after a while she said good night and walked into the hall and screamed at the top of her lungs like she was being killed. Of course, I jumped up and by that time she had flicked on the light and she was looking around frantically for the man she just saw in the hall. Then she described what I'd been seeing for years.

Also in that house, my cat was TERRIFIED to go downstairs to her litter box. She'd wait till she had no choice but to go then run as fast as she could down, and as fast as she could back up then look at the stairs like she was being chased. She'd never done that before and after we moved out, never did it after.

She'd also do things like... an impression would appear on the other couch cushion where she was sitting, like someone sat down. She'd stand up and hiss at nothing with her back arched.

I'd also felt the bed go down like someone was sitting on it when I was asleep.

The first night I was there, I saw a glowing eye staring out of my wall in my bedroom. I COVERED my walls in posters because I was so scared.

I hated that house.

Final story is the ghost child I saw.

We had moved into a new home. I had a picture of a pop star that was framed behind glass. It was sitting in my room, propped against my dresser because I hadn't had time to hang it yet. The glass was VERY reflective so I often used it as a mirror when I was getting dressed, doing my makeup or my hair.

The first night, I was downstairs getting ready for bed and when I looked in the mirror, I saw a little girl standing behind me. Yellow curls, a kneelength yellow dress with a white underskirt. Little white socks and black shoes almost like a doll (I didn't own anything like that) and she was carrying a doll of her own that looked like that only with a pink dress. She just stood there staring at me. Even when I looked behind me and looked back, she was still there watching me.

I ran upstairs and wouldn't go back in my room that night. I never saw her again though.

I have other stories but this post is already HUGE.
