Do you believe in ghosts?

Before we bought our house we lived in an Apt building that use to be an old school house. We'd hear kids laughing and giggling all the time, we had the only kids in the entire building (not big 8 apts in all). We called them our fake children. I think they liked to play with our girls. They were young (1&2.5) when we moved so I dont think they remember anything.

Now in the house we bought the former owner died here. They say he was found in the living room but I have my doubts and think it was the kitchen. I just get this eerie feeling in there. No where else, not even the attic or cellar. I also see shadows in there where no one else is awake. Its not the dog or cats either. The cats hate the dog so they stay upstairs all of the time.

ETA I'm also buying some sage but not to get rid of the ghosts! its worth a shot!! ;)

I hate talking about it because it scares me, but I've had frequent interactions with spirits. Sometimes I just feel their presence, other times I actually see them. They've always been negative spirits (I think they're demons) and make the hair on my neck stand on end. I don't summon them or practice dark magic, so I'm unsure why I've been targeted :confused3

The first time I saw one was with my ex. We were at his house late one night and his dogs starting going bezerk in the other rooms. Long story short, they were barking and chasing the spirit. They were extremely sensitive to it before we ever saw it- he said the dogs often growled at night, but this was the first time he saw what they were growling at.

I haven't had any experiences as severe as yours, but yes, I do believe in spirits.

I second the sage. It may also be helpful to have a psychic/ghost whisperer visit.

Ive thought of asking someone something but honestly how do you go about finding one and one that you can trust? I mentioned that to Cal about over a month ago and he wasnt too keen on bringing someone in but....

you would need to get an electrician in --

It could be old wiring in your home, or could be load on the power grid, or some thing in between,

.

if it was the wiring in the home wouldnt other devices be affected? its only on part of the first floor where tv, tuner and router are plugged in and they are plugged into different outlets. and i checked the breakers and the router is on a different line if that means anything. :confused3

Yes I do believe in ghosts. I have had so many things happen in my own home. Not just the normal bumps in the night and things disappearing for years and then out of the blue turning up right there and no one has a clue where it came from or where it's been. :scratchin

We have good spirits. I've never felt afraid even when I'm here all alone.

The disappearing things dont freak us too much but it is freaky...
I dont keep butter in the fridge, im talking about stick butter. for years weve simply kept the stick we are using out in a butter dish on the counter.
Well one day in june sheila was asking where the butter dish was. we sat for dinner and all of us said we had no idea. everyone said they hadnt moved it. This was one of those times where you dont start off thinking its a ghost or anything just that something must have happened.
almost a week later Cal's daughter kelly was cleaning up after dinner and was putting dishes in the dishwasher. Cal walked in from work and came into the kitchen to say hello. Immediately he said "oh you found the butter dish"
the rest of looked to the counter and there it was, where it always was and a half stick of butter was on the dish. now that dish was gone, we knew it was gone because everytime you wanted butter youd notice it was still gone and wed had been using that fake spray butter and that we keep in the fridge. But now it was back and we have no idea what happened

Kind of... it's like I find it hard to believe, BUT I have experienced some weird stuff, and I know some other people who have had similar experiences. Some of that stuff is hard to ignore.

Yes you are right, some is very hard to ignore. I really didnt want to tell every little thing that has happened but everything all of you write makes me think of another inicident.

one thing that was hard to ignore for the rest of them happened on a sunday afternoon. i was out walking cassing down by the memorial we set up so i didnt experience this one. The three of them were in the house in differernt rooms with sheila being in a bedroom and other two on the first floor. They all heard the same thing and said it wasnt very loud but loud enough considering sheila said it sounded like it was coming from downstairs and kelly and cal said it was coming from the basement. Remember my second floor bedrooms all over look the downstairs area. They all heard a shuffling sound like someone walking or something being moved, then they heard a crash and then someone whistling.
Cal by this point has been really getting feaked and he made his daughter go into the basement with him. the basement is finished but its just a large room with a seperate area with washer and dryer. There was nothing out of place, nothing on floor and they couldnt find anything that made the crash sound.
The whistling seemed to scare them the most. i guess because we have central air and our windows arent opened and even of they were we are set back a ways from the road and someone walking in the road past our home isnt really that close at all. and i was outside anyway and didnt hear anything.

I did hear whistling the other morning. i was lying in bed about 7am and simply heard 5 to 6 whistle notes. it made me freeze waiting to hear more but i never did. I walked down past the other bedrooms and everyone was still asleep.
I try to think what else it could be because i dont want to say everything we see or hear is a ghost but there is so much more that we just cant explain.

I shared this story a while back and I will repost it again because it is the only real experience I have ever had with a ghost. I stil think about this a lot.

He said that a woman was washing dishes in a flowing nightgown. He said she was there for a while. Long story short, he didn't stay another night. In fact, that was the last time I ever saw him.

That and your daughters story is spooky and im not sure what id do if i actually saw someone standing there.
I havent seen but i have felt like someone has been there.
Again this took place early one morning while lying in bed. Many mornings cassie my dog will get up and walk over to whatever side of bed im sleeping on and either just stare at you so when you open your eyes you see her hairy face lol) or nudge my arm or even face with her nose.
Well I was lying there and i heard the floor creaking as if she was coming into the room. if you walk straight into the room you will hit the head of my bed. i waited a minute expecting her to nudge me and when she didnt I put my arm out expecting to feel her furry face.. When i didnt feel anything i turned my head and there was nothing there. I sat up and saw cassie sleeping on the end of my bed. if that had been her walking in i would have felt her jump up. shes a big lab, about 75 pounds.
But i know i heard someone walk in and i had that feeling like i was being stared at.

Now in the house we bought the former owner died here. They say he was found in the living room but I have my doubts and think it was the kitchen. I just get this eerie feeling in there.

eerie feeling is how i felt thinking i was being stared at yes. and hearing kids laugh is very spooky.

Why do you think its negative spirits. Ive been trying to keep a positive outlook even though weve had a few scary things happen but i dont want to be scared you know?

if they are modern electronics with "soft switches" then yes -- if its a physical switch, then less likely to affect other devices.

these days most consumer electronics are always on -- even when they are off. the power "switch" is just two thin metal strips that activate when touched -- they could be activated by humidity even.

I believe.

I have seen a spirit, have had weird things happen, and have felt a presence around me for years. The good thing is that I don't feel threatened by the presence.

I would be freaked out if my aunt was buried in the back yard!

why? its just their ashes.. I have my mom AND dads ashes on top of my computer enter. :goodvibes I dont know what else to do with them.. my mom didn't want to be buried. My dad never said what to do with his... so they are just kinda sitting there.. my mom since 2004, dad 2008

If you think it's your aunt, why are you scared? It doesn't sound like she's doing anything harmful....actually it sounds like she's still "living her life"...in and out of the kitchen, turning the TV on etc.

Why not just say "Auntie, we're glad to have you here, but you know, it's also OK for you to go on to your next thing. We'll be OK" and see whathappens.

My dad's ashes are on the mantle at my mom's house since he also didn't specify what he wanted us to do with them. As soon as my mom dies, they are both going to be buried....at a cemetary.

I don't know why it freaks me out, but it just does. I start really thinking about what's there and how it looks that it just gives me goosebumps.

And I forget to answer the original question, but YES, I believe in ghosts.

yes I do
my mom seen them & my DH work has one
if the last one leaving the store doesn't tell him(the ghost - I think his name is Bill) good night he plays a pank on them. This is a Sherwin-Williams in Cleveburne TX (sp?? we live an hour away) anyways they use a rubber mallet to close the paint cans after mixing paint - then it gets moved over to the counter -- it is crazy then sometimes the men's bathroom toilet flushes several times in a row with no one in there
Bill died there when it was auto- parts store along time ago - one of the ex-employees saw him a couple of times

now the ghost mom saw was when she was a little girl - you had to sleep in this one room otherwise you didn't see him - he walks across the room - he does disappear in front of the window since there is a light that shines in it - anyways he goes across the room stabs someone(you don't see them just the act) then you see him walk out the door -- Mom figured he is sad for doing that.

last I heard the lady that now owns the house uses the room as a family/den & no one sleeps in their anymore

Thank you, I really want to find "real world" reasons for as much as i can even though recent events have made it harder.

I would be freaked out if my aunt was buried in the back yard!

I knew that would bother some but it doesnt bother me. I dont feel like shes going to come out to get us lol
Its nice to know she is still around the house she grew up in.

No, I do not.

I also believe you have some pranksters among you.

I would think thats a very good possibility if i didnt know my family so well and the things that have happened are just so weird and they have happened to all of us like the kitchen sounds and individually too

i dont even know what i believe right now, all i know is soem very strange things have and continue to happen.

I believe.

I have seen a spirit, have had weird things happen, and have felt a presence around me for years. The good thing is that I don't feel threatened by the presence.

I dont feel threatened either although cal is very worried about 3 things that happened this past month.
The first was a tinkerbell statue i had in my yard located in a little gardern with the same red mulch. when you walk out the back door you pass the statue on your way to pool.
my yard is fenced in because of the pool and we arent that close on either side to our neighbors. Again the front of yhe house is set back a nice amount so we dont see walkerbys really.
Tink was attached to a base about two feet high. and by attached i mean glued. one morning i came out and tink was lying on the floor. I picked her up and her wings were missing and her hands were gone. She was broken. i looked at the mulch and didnt see any pieces.
I was on the phone with my friend mike and he heard me gasp and i started telling him what had been happening. He made me get off the phone and go tell the rest of family. I felt ok telling mike cause he lives out of state and who cares if he tells others.
Cal was very concerned because this seemed malcious. everything else that had happened before this was weird but not scary.
When i mentioned that i didnt see her wings or hand he started diggin into the mulch. over an area about 4 feet wide he found the wings in quite a few pieces buried a few incehs in the mulch.
We never found the hands.
He tried to break a peice of the wing and he couldnt. Im not sure what its made of but its not easy to break. We didnt notice the statue broken the night before and two bedrooms look over the pool and no one heard anything.

The next two things happened afetr we were away for a weekend and came home on a sunday. it was around 3pm and it was hot so i walked down the path to the clearing to water the plants near where my aunt is. i had planted six plants in various spots. When i reached the mulch i noticed all the plants had been pulled out and were just lying approximately where i planted them.

Now i guess an animal could have eaten them but there was no areas that were dug up. Its like they were simply pulled straight up and the dirt and mulch around them just filled in the hole. You could really not tell where they had been planted but i knew basically where i dug.
Also I planted those about 6 weeks ago, and find it starnge if it was an animal they left the plants alone for that long.

Now this last one is weird but what can i say everythings been weird.
Before we left for the weekend my friend mike, who i had told everything to by now, told me to take pictures of the house before i left so i could see if anythign was different. I laughed at him but he said to do it since the butter had gone missing as well as a mug which had moved which i didnt tell you guys yet.
Anyway i was the last out of the house and i just snapped pictures all over.
Sunday when we came home it was hot like i said. I walked into the kitchen and first thing i noticed was the paper towel holder was empty.

This will sound dumb i know (mike tells me it is lol) but i cannot stand when the paper towel is used up and the cardboard holder is left. THIS DRIVES ME CRAZY! lol
because it drives me nuts i always notice right away when it happens. Once i changed it i realized i didnt notice it being empty when we left. I looked at the pictures on my camera and right there in the picture is the paper towel holder with a roll at least half full. I asked everyone who was last to leave house and they all remember it was me because i was taking pictures. I thoguth maybe one fo them ran back in to wask hands but its at least a half roll of paper towel.
Mike asked me if a neighbor had a key and i said no after confirming with Cal.
Honestly this doesnt scare me but Mike and Cal say there had to be someone in the house along. Along with the plants and tink statue they have been worried since that time.

In not scared if tis my aunt i just dont see all of these things as something shed do. some yes but not the stuff i mention in the post above.

OP, did your dog know your Aunt?

Yes my dog is almost 7 years old. She didnt want Cassie sleeping in ehr bed or anything but they were friends.

yes I do
my mom seen them & my DH work has one

IF its a ghost and IF its not my aunt I would like to know the way your mom and husband do about who it is.
