Hi everyone

Ive had some interesting experiences lately and id really like another opinions. My family doesnt really want to ask friends about this because they are all afraid people will make fun or think we are crazy.

My aunt died 3 months ago. she lived in this house her whole life and loved it. After she was cremated she was buried on our property. We cleared the area where we decided to bury her. We made a nice circle and covered it in a nice red mulch. we planted some flowers and statues and a bench. It really is quite beautiful because most days i will down the path to the clearing and sit and talk to her. It felt very peaceful.

About a month after she died we had some strange things start to happen.
The first thing we noticed happened after midnight one night while lying in bed. I woke up to sounds in the kitchen. I heard someone walking around and heard the cabinets opening and closing. I turned to look towards my bedroom door which overlooks the living room. Any light that is turned on downstairs can be seen from the upstairs bedrooms. I didnt see anything but still heard the noises.

i didnt think it was that weird until the next day my cousin Cal (my aunts son) and his wife, Sheila and their daughter started talking at dinner.
Sheila asked her daughter why she was up so late in the kitchen and commented on how noisy she was. The daughter said she wasnt in the kitchen and heard someone and figured it was me or her parents. at this point i looked to cal and he looked to me and thinking back we were both hoping the other would say it was them in the kitchen. Once Cal and I both said we heard the same noises we all looked at each other and then started laughing when his daughter said maybe it was our aunt. She would go to bed early and would often wake up by midnight and have something to eat in the kitchen. She wasnt as loud as what we heard but sometimes we were still up when shed come down.
We had a good laugh but another strange part of it was that we all heard it at different times. Cal and his wife heard but when each was woken up from it they saw the other still asleep. Cal even went out into the hallway to look over into the livingroom, where you could see part of the kitchen but it was dark and he saw no one and the sounds has stopped.

After that night we didnt mention it again more than once or twice and sort of forgot. i think it was about a little over a week later that the tv in the living room turned on during the night. It was blasting and I saw Cal pass my door to go down and turn it off. It woke us all and he was annoyed and asked who left the volume up so high. His wife sheila said she was watching before bed and no way did she leave it that loud. This happened two more times over the next week and that was enough for Cal get a new tv. He used this really as an excuse Sheila said as he wanted a flat screen down there. He bought a flast screen and a speaker system and tuner.
The second night after it was set up the same thing happened again but the part that was freaky is that you need to turn the tuner on before you can turn the tv on now and both got turned on. i asked if a neighbors remote could turn them on and he said I guess its possible but he bought different manufacturers for the tv and the tuner. Another night it went off it was to the sound of the emergency broadcast system. the loud buzz sounds made us jump right out of bed. Cal ran down as soon as we heard it but it stopped and he said a tv infomercial was on. He realy did get downstairs so fast and he thought it was weird the noise stopped and he didnt see the usual "this is a test" announcement. the tv still goes on to this day and once in a while it turns off as we watch.

Cals Daughter tried to be funny saying ghosts can interfer with electronis signals. I do not know honestly if she was serious or kidding but we also began to have problems with our wirelss signal. Verizon has had to come out 4 times so far because the wireless signal will just go out. The router is on, internet light is on, and yet we just lose the signal. Each technician who comes out says it must be the router (because my computer picks up my neighbors signal) and sets up a new one and it works for some period of time until the same problem happened. I actually had an arguement with verizon after it happened the third time as they were implying i had to be doing something to cause it.

Weve had many other things happen too but this is getting long but i will say what scared me most so far is when i was sitting in the kitchen having coffee one night. only the light over the stove was on. my black lab was sitting next to me as she does always. Shes a big people person, i guess most labs are, and if i get up to walk into other room just to get something she will follow me. No matter where I walk she follows and once she sees im ready to stay put then she will lay down next to me. Anyway i was sitting there for probably 15 -20 minutes thinking of my Aunt and all the strangeness and i wondered if she could be there somehow. I said outloud "are you here?" not really expecting a reply but about less than a minute after i said my lab started growling looking out of the kitchen into the dining room. she is the friendliest dog and i cant even rememeber her growling at anyone so when i heard this i really froze. she was just staring. and not out the window and not looking around . just standing and growling. That spooked me and i decided to go up. I patted her on the back and said lets go. I walked up and got into bed. I was just laying there thinking of my aunt and everything when i realized cassie (my lab) wasnt lying next to my bed. She always follows me to bed and i didnt even notice she hadnt come up.
I walked back down and saw her sitting in the living room staring into the dining room again. I called her name but she didnt move. i called again two more times and louder but she still didnt move. Her ears didnt even move towards the sounds of my voice. I thought she might have fallen asleep but when i walked toward her i saw her eyes open. I called her one more time, it was like she was in a trance. So when she didnt respond i touched her collar and her head whipped around and it was like she was normal again. I said to her lets go and she followed me up.

I really didnt mean to write this much but We havent told anyone and its been bottling up in me for the past 3 months.
What i really want is just some perspective. Things have happened more frequently in the past month (some cute, some silly and yes some scary) and i just dont know what to think. Im sure we could think of some logical explanation in every case but we never had any weird stuff like this happen before and now there is just so much.
i feel better just getting this out but im curious how would you guys feel? What would you do?
thanks

Yes I do believe. i would smudge the house with sage.

Yes. We had one when I was around 12 that would take my father's keys, we'd check all over, they would be nowhere, then we'd check again and they'd show up on top of the fridge. It was funny. Oh, and the dog used to go up to the attic and poop sometimes (he was a papillion mutt, the big dog NEVER did that, so I'm thinking he was just being a jerk) and I think the ghost didn't like it because he'd come running down the stairs yipping like a bat outta hell....good times...except for picking up the poop in the ghosted attic. :rotfl:

Thing was it was a Cape Cod and the stairs from the living room went right up to the unfinished attic, and we kept the door shut, so how he'd get it open I don't know...

What is smudging? Quite simply, it is the burning of sacred herbs (usually Sage, though others such as Sweetgrass and Cedar are also used) to rid a person or an area of negative energy. It is a practice that has been around for thousands of years. At one time, these herbs were crushed into a special bowl and burned, as the smoke surrounded the person or the area needing cleansed. Later, these herbs were bundled together into sticks and became known as "smudge sticks". The concept was the same... letting the herbs burn and cleanse an area of unwanted energy.

YES I've had simular experinces. Did nothing about them usually got a laugh out of them.

Chanting (three times):

Sickness, evil, despair BE GONE!
Sickness, evil, despair BE GONE!
Sickness, evil, despair BE GONE!

Maybe he'd poof in a little bit of smoke.

This has distinct possibilities.

You think my husband would leave if I smudged the house? He's pretty damned negative.
:rotfl::rotfl:

I hate to think of the energy as negative since weve started to think somehow its related to my aunt.

as for the keys post, yes weve had items been moved, disappeared and reappered. now we just look at each other and shake our heads a bit and laugh.

I keep waiting for something to happen in my house. Two people have died here. Nothing so far............:confused3 Not sure if I "believe" or not. Guess time will tell.

I haven't had any experiences as severe as yours, but yes, I do believe in spirits.

I second the sage. It may also be helpful to have a psychic/ghost whisperer visit.

what the OP is describing with the electronics is a classic sign of electrical brown out.

The voltage dips low enough that there is still power to the device, then gets a surge. If the surge is strong enough it jumps the gap in the electronic switch.

It can also explain the wireless issues -- not quite enough electricity to maintain the wireless radio signal.

does that mean the problem is with the electricity in my home? or coming in from the electric company?

Im hoping to get logical answers to as much asi can so that i can concentrate of stuff thats harder to explain.

you would need to get an electrician in --

It could be old wiring in your home, or could be load on the power grid, or some thing in between,

You can purchase a line tester that plugs into a socket -- or a power line conditioner (which are NOT power bars or surge suppressors -- ) and that would look after the devices with a "soft" switch.

long term brown out conditions can kill electronic devices over time-- it stresses the capacitors.

My Sony did that--turned on by itself. I finally had to unplug it.

It's very unsettling to say the least--being alone in your house and all of a sudden you hear the tv turn on in another room or hear it going in the middle of the night. :scared:

Yes I do believe in ghosts. I have had so many things happen in my own home. Not just the normal bumps in the night and things disappearing for years and then out of the blue turning up right there and no one has a clue where it came from or where it's been. :scratchin

There were some things that happened that has convinced me there is something out there, or rather, in here.

We have good spirits. I've never felt afraid even when I'm here all alone.

Kind of... it's like I find it hard to believe, BUT I have experienced some weird stuff, and I know some other people who have had similar experiences. Some of that stuff is hard to ignore.

You think my husband would leave if I smudged the house? He's pretty damned negative.

:lmao: I may try this!

I shared this story a while back and I will repost it again because it is the only real experience I have ever had with a ghost. I stil think about this a lot.

It was a long time ago, back when I was in high school. We had just moved to Jackson, MS and we were going to have a family get together at our old place on the river in Guntersville, Al. So my dad rented cabins for us, and my grandparents. My aunt & uncle were in a different cabin. Well, my boyfriend from Alabama decided to come up for the weekend, and this is where it began.

He had to sleep on the sofa in the open kitchen & den area, and my sister and I slept in a loft area. My parents had a room, and my grandparents had a room. The next morning, we all got up and had breakfast and talked, went out on the boat and all of that. Sometime that afternoon, Tim asked me if I came down in the middle of the night to wash dishes. Of course I didn't, what teenager would? But the look on his face said it all. He looked scared and he was being serious. He said that a woman was washing dishes in a flowing nightgown. He said she was there for a while. Long story short, he didn't stay another night. In fact, that was the last time I ever saw him.

So the next day we were all sitting around in the cabin and it suddenly got so cold in there. There was a window unit and it was on, but as soon as someone said that it was cold, it turned off. Normally you had to walk up to it and turn it off. We could not get it to come back on at all. Also, something happened with the ice in the freezer, but I can't remember what it was.

Anyway, on our way home to Jackson, I was in the back seat of the car and I started laughing. My parents asked what I was laughing about and I told them that I was laughing about what Tim had said. About him saying it had to have been a ghost washing dishes. My parents looked at each other and my mom said, "there was a ghost in that cabin".

She said that one night my dad got up to go to the bathroom. While he was in there, he said that someone was knocking on the door. He said "I'll be out in a minute". Again, someone knocked on the door and again he said that he would be out in a minute. When he came out, no one was there. He asked my mom if she came to the bathroom door, and she said no. She could see the bathroom door from her room and no one was there. Then she asked my dad if he had grabbed her foot before he got back into bed and he said no. She swears that someone or something grabbed her foot.

Then she went on to tell me that my grandmother was in the shower and the toilet kept flushing, but no one was in there with her. It was one weird thing after another, but we didn't put it all together until the car ride home. I wish I could remember them all.

When we got home, my mother called the lady we rented the cabin from, Mrs. Reese. She had been a family friend for years & years. She told my mom that when the cabin was being build, years before, a man fell off of the roof and died. She said that his bride never got over it. She had several families tell her about feeling like there was a ghost in there, but she just blew it off. The funny thing is, my sister and I begged my daddy to rent that cabin again to see what else would happen, but we never went back.

Ever since then, I have believed in that sort of thing. That's the only time I have ever know for sure of something like that going on, and it was friendly. I couldn't deal with the other.

I should get my DD to tell you all about her experience at a friends house. It is freaky!

I ended my story in the other post about sharing my DDs story of her at a friends house. It's way out there but they swear it's true.

My daughters friends house is haunted by a ghost who is a teen age boy named Jeffery. He actually died in a car wreck years ago but he had lived in that house. Her mom knew him from school, and he was a very nice young man.

My dd said they would talk to Jeffery and say things like type stop on the keyboard of the computer, and the computer keys would type. He would move cups around that we're on the dresser. He would open and close doors and things like that. They would say things and he would do them. CRAZY!!

One night they laying in bed talking and saying something that must have made him mad because he went under the covers and raced from one end of the bed to the other over and over very quickly. It scared them to death! My dd didn't stay there anymore.:lmao:
