Do you base purchasing name brands...

Okay, what the heck do you do about your T.P. "residue"?

{it had to be asked....}

I had never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, I buy the exact opposite of my parents! :teeth:

I guess I am still rebeling in my 30's.

My DH is more stuck on this than I am.

"That's not the kind my mom buys...." I swear he actually says that. Um, guess what- I'm not your MOM! :rotfl:

But we have, over the years, developed brand preferences (a lot of things we buy are what his mom buys, because it's something I could care less about, ie- Heinz ketchup, Angel Soft TP, etc).

My DH works at a company that ships Unilever products, and we get free stuff- so we use whatever detergent they give us (usually ALL, I think); dove soaps, bodywash, and deoderant (lucky for me, I used those anyway- now I don't have to pay for them). Axe products for him. In fact, I don't think I have PAID for detergent, body wash, or deoderant in 6+ months. Free is a big brand-deciding factor for me!

I use Scott and don't get them. And you? :lmao:

I will only buy Heinz ketchup. I won't buy no brand cereal. Other than that.... anything is fair game. My Mom is the same!

I refuse to buy any brand my mom does. Reason? Even though she buys name brand, quality items, she *never* changes brands once she starts. I got soooo tired of the same toothpaste, soap, deodorant and food items while growing up. She'd never try anything new. When I got to be old enough to use deodorant, all my friends were using Secret (which I was dying for!) but I was made to wear Right Guard spray (smells like bug spray!) because that was "our" brand. Now I buy Secret, any kind of detergent that catches my eye and on and on and on. What freedom!!! :thumbsup2 (Mom still uses Right Guard. :sad2: )

Not really. I have certain brands I insist on (Charmin, Heinz Ketchup, Hellman's mayo) and then there are items that I'll try different brands or just get whats on sale...and in thinking about it, I don't think any of these (except maybe the Hellman's Mayo) are brands my mom insisted on.

I do not think I buy anything that my mother bought. I try to buy mostly organic. My Mom always (and still does) went for cheap whereas I go for quality. As for tp I actually buy 7th Generation, yes its not the softest but after traveling to many many foreign countries it is still decent in comparison and I feel better about buying it.

Yep, there are many brands that I buy just because that's what I grew up with: Tide detergent, Downy fabric softener, Charmin toilet paper, Sure deodorant, etc. But sometimes I'm a rebel and switch things up a bit like using Downy fabric softener sheets instead of the liquid and buying Dawn instead of Joy when I had a coupon. I'm such a rebel! :teeth:

Thanks to being a toilet paper snob, I got myself a brand spanking new tag.
Thanks, TF! (and thanks to the Scott toilet paper people for making an exemplary, soft on the tush, product! :thumbsup2 )

:goofy: Congrats on the new tag! :goofy:

I buy what I think is best, not what I've used as a kid.

If the brand is good then they get my business.
