on what you grew up with?? I thought of this from the butter thread. We always had Land O'Lakes butter in our house, so thats the brand I purchase for no other reason then that's what I grew up with. :confused3 There are several brands I've always purchased just because they were familiar. Other examples are Dawn dishwashing detergent, Northern toilet paper and Ragu spaghetti sauce. However, there are also many things that I have strayed away from over the years and took a chance and changed brands. :teeth: It is so funny though when my Mom comes for a visit and will make comments like, "Oh, I see you use Kraft instead of Wishbone." :rotfl: I feel so judged, like I have been disloyal to the family. :lmao:

I buy good bbq sauce .No Kraft, but I love Kraft Mac and cheese and Kraft singles for grilled cheese....I'm a cheese snob..It has to be fancy Parmigiano Reggiano and the stuff in the green can is not allowed .

I don't like Kraft bbq sauce. We get KC Masterpiece. We do get Kraft singles for cheese. I was referring to salad dressing, specifically French. :teeth:

We were poor .My mother always got the cheap brands..I like KC Masterpiece, but I think Sweet Baby Rays is just a little better.

Love the taste, never buy anything else. My X-Husb used to buy "any" brand of Mayo, I used to buy a small jar of Hellman's and let him use the cheap crap! :lmao: This is another reason of many,of why he is my "X".

When I first moved out, I bought all the same brands my Mom did. After a while I started branching out and trying new stuff. The funniest thing with my Mom is her devotion to Charmin. I buy Scott, it's way cheaper and performs the same function. When I had surgery in January, Mom and Dad came up from Florida to be with me. She brought her own TP!!! When we stay at DVC she brings her own TP!!! It cracks me up!!!
My only real devotion to brands come with soda-has to be Coca Cola products.

I was raised on Scott tissue, remember when they came out in "colors" Pink and Blue I remember, back in the day! :teeth: Oh, and they still sell PREPERATION H! :lmao:

I buy what ever brand is on sale except for toilet paper. I will not sacrifice comfort in the nether regions just to save a dime.

Oh Tag Fairy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

Some of the stuff mom used I use, too. Tide and Ragu come to mind. Shopped around, but came back to those. :)

Cheap canned corn (because I like it the best) and Charmin TP. Don't like the cheap TP at all!!!!

DH gets garbage bags from a business supply company. They are dirt cheap and don't break like the cheapo grocery store ones do.

Guess Mom isn't the only one with a TP issue! I must have a tough bum because it makes no never mind to me which kind I buy.

Oh, this was too funny! :rotfl2: I agree though, get the TF here, ASAP!

Personally, I like Scott because it doesn't leave residue behind like Charmin does. Price has nothing to do with it.

To answer the OP... I buy Heinz ketchup only, Miracle Whip salad dressing, Hellman's Caesar dressing (other types can be any variety of brands), Kraft (perish the thought) honey BBQ sauce, Ragu (meat sauce flavored only), Folger's instant coffee (I prefer instant, I know I'm weird), Playtex tampons, Herbal Essences conditioner, Keri lotion, Aim toothpaste, Johnson and Johnson mint dental floss, Secret Solid, Tide, Kraft Mac and cheese, Kraft singles, and Cocoa Pebbles. These products I will NOT budge from.

My mom prolly bought Heinz ketchup of all the products on this list with brand loyalty, though she bought many of these same ones from time to time.

There are a few other products that I buy maybe 2 brands of (depending on sales), but for most everything else, I'm pretty open. I don't buy many generic products at all. I really don't find them to any less than stocking up during a good sale.

I do buy generic pharmacy items like mouthwash, painkillers, cold meds-you can save a ton of money on those.
I buy Mom's brands of cleaning products-Tide, Lysol, Downy, Clorox, Pledge.

I like Listerine mouth wash (new orange is much better than the old), I find generic Ibuprofen doesn't compete with Advil to get rid of pain, but yes, it's cheaper. Nothing compares to Advil Cold and Sinus when your nose is stuffy. You do have me on a few though. I buy generic Tylenol PM (and they're ever bit as good), and I've bought generic cold meds and they seem to be as good, or actually as bad as the brands. I find none of them really work at all.

I don't buy Clorox, I get whatever fabric softener, and NO ONE will ever get me to budge from my Tide. Consumer Report's even rated it the best (at least the last time I checked, which was awhile ago). Other cleaning products, I pretty much buy what's on sale with 3 exceptions that I forgot to post before. CLR for the bathroom (I never have to scrub anything), Cascade for the dishwasher (and that's more because it's all I ever used), and Cameo for stainless steel pots and pans. I also do buy other bathroom cleaning products, but just not with brand loyalty.

I normally do get Mr. Clean and Murphy's Oil Soap, but if something else caught my eye, I might try it. Not due to brand loyalty, I get Swiffer products, but if there was an alternative that fit the machine I have, I'd try it too, but I'll not hold my breath on that as I'm sure it is patented.

we are name brand snobs here i am afraid. though we do use the store brand for a few cleaning products and some otc's as well.
sweet baby ray's is the best bbq sauce, miracle whip and hellman's mayo, name brand cereals are much better quality we feel, only kraft mac and cheese etc etc. AND always, always, charmin blue package tp, and yep we take it with us when we travel, or stop to buy some on the way.
