I think CP is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant w/ great breakfast food. I wouldn't not go b/c of a character.

DW and I are counted among the group of Disney fans who have no love for Pooh (Tigger is ok in small doses ;) ). As a result, there is absolutely no way we would ever want to eat at the Crystal Palace because of all the Pooh characters. Who's with us?

(Nothing against Pooh lovers - it just ain't our thing. :thumbsup2 )

Thank you! I thought we were the only ones who avoided CP because we do not like Pooh or any of his buddies. Maybe we could start a support group for people like us?? :rotfl:

CP looks so beautiful from the outside, and the location for breakfast would be great. However, I will stick to Kona or Chef Mickey's for my MK breakfast days just to avoid the big yellow bear!

LOL at this topic b/c DH and are are NOT in any way shape or form Pooh fans (or any of the gang of Pooh friend characters) and if we were childless we would probably avoid CP. But, having kids who know the Pooh characters to some extent and enjoy the show "My Friends Tigger and Pooh"- we go and indulge the kids in something they like that we do not care for. Will my kid ever have a Pooh themed room- no not on my dollar, can either of them have a Pooh (or friends of Pooh) stuffed animal- sure. I know they don't like everything I like either- that's what makes the world go 'round.

I avoid CP because I would never eat at a buffet. I just can't stomach the idea of it.

My family love all of the cp and pooh , eyeore, tigger, and cute piglet. We go there everytime were there for dinner. The dinner is awesome much more high end than Chef Mickey's ( love chef mickey's go there everytime too, just saying)
Do you also not go to chef mickeys because you find the charachters the annoying too LOL :rolleyes1
Was is so annoying about pooh anyway.

:tigger: there was no pooh icon
pooh lovers united we stand:love:

Honestly, you are missing out on one of the BEST breakfast buffets in WDW!

I love the Pooh characters, but overall I'm not big on character character interactions. I like to watch from afar, but I don't like when they approach me.

You should give it a try & just let the hostess know you would prefer the characters did not come to your table. Lots of people do that.

The food here is just way too good to miss!!

pooh is not my favorite character, but Eeyore sure is, so we tried CP last Dec and loved it

Matter of opinion, I guess. I would rather have really good sandwiches then a lousy meal like at Boatwright's or H&V.

Well, you certainly have a point there - H&V was horrible last visit. ;)

I thought that the food sounded good and the venue was pretty then it wouldn't make a difference for anyone, regardless of the characters. You can always tell your server no characters, and they won't stop by you, the worst you need to do is to look at them as they pass you by.

Too bad we can't always tell our server to have all characters pass us by, we'd never have posts about other diners who annoyed us! :rotfl:;)

:faint: I had no idea there are people who don't like Pooh. The idea has never even crossed my mind. I can understand not being a fan, but to really not like him? Really? :worried:

I have characters I really like and some that are just neutral for me. I can't think of any I don't like at all. I guess the closest would have to be Aurora. shhhh...don't tell my daughter. :rotfl:

oh, and I'd like to say I'd never avoid a restaurant due to characters, but I admit H&V isn't on my list because I don't have a desire to eat with JoJo & Little Einsteins (we did stop for no-wait photo ops in the park, though).

ME TOO! :rotfl2:

We love Pooh and I honestly think they have some of the best breakfast buffet in the world!
(I actually just read a Winnie-the-Pooh story to DS for bedtime!)

no - we avoid crystal palace because we don't like buffets....

or characters at meals...

or characters at buffets.

I have to say I am old enough to remember the Crystal Palace way before there were characters there. It was always a tradition with my family that we ate there, it was such a beautiful restaurant and it was so peaceful to sit there and rest and eat. Personally, even though I have lots of kids I just don't really enjoy character meals that much, so since Pooh and friends we've only eaten there once. It's always made me sad that it's now so expensive to eat there.....(cause I think all character meals are expensive when you have 7 mouths to feed)!

We love Pooh! But also the food is very good and the restaraunt is beautiful!:rotfl2: Give it a try!:rotfl2:

I can't believe this discussion is even going on. Not like Pooh? You poor thing. Were you deprived as a child? or not introduced properly? Did you not get to watch Winnie-the-Pooh as a child? Well, I guess it is possible. I don't care for Jack Sparrow. But to not like one of the main Disney characters is.....is.....is so un-Disney like. I say go to breakfast and watch him from afar.

Not a big Pooh fan but we do like Tigger and Eeyore. Been to CP on every trip because 1/the food's good and 2/the location is convenient.

If you just wave at the characters when they go by they'll get the message.

I remember the pre-character meals too. While I like Pooh, I'm not so interested in a boisterous CP that I'm making it a priority. CP is a "maybe" for us.

Interesting. I don't consider Winnie the Pooh a main Disney character. I barely even consider him a Disney character at all . . . he's a tenuously licensed character.
