Do you automatically get placed in the unit you purchased when booking DVC reservation?

We are first-time DVC owners that just passed ROFR for 200 points at SSR (woot!). We were given a 1L unit number on the closing docs and I was wondering if that means we will automatically be placed in that unit (if available)? Or does it mean nothing at all?

It is not related to the unit you stay in!

It's not even related to any unit in the resort. It's just a way that they divide up all the points.

Nope. That's just the unit your deeded ownership is related to. You may never end up staying in that unit

I think for our Aulani points the deed reads a minuscule percent of Room 8B. I have zero idea on what that translates to!

Literally means nothing LOL I determined from our RIV deed that we own a tile or two in a grand villa...

We actually stayed in "our" unit once! If you look at the paperwork for your purchase there's a way to relate it back to an actual unit.

This past winter during a snow storm I passed some time looking up exactly what units we own in. They'd never make my list of requests.

Your deed lists a unit #. You then go to the condo drawings on the orange county website and locate the declaration that has your unit and determine the room number.
