Do you actually use the coffee maker in your room?

Would you use a Keurig in a hotel room or that also you don't trust?

They (and others) get mold issues so probably not unless I wanted to take the time to properly clean it.

We do use it but only after breaking it down and giving it a thorough cleaning. I can guarantee mousekeeping never touches them. It's a lot better coffee than they have at the QS stations.

Yeah we may opt to get some vinegar and run it through at some point.

I watched a special (Dateline/2020/one of those) and have already read articles about hotel cleanliness. Name the bodily fluid and it has been found in a coffee maker.

I used it to heat bottles a few times. Ran it to get hot water stuck the bottle in the cup warmed bottle.

Never used it for coffee.

I use it but not good coffee. I'll explain: Joffrey's is excellent coffee and a local premium coffee company. The problem is the WDW coffee makers. They aren't kcups. They use coffee bags like tea bags. The coffee comes out weak and pale. I still use it but plus it up with a shot of starbucks via instant coffee. YMMV.

If you are bothered by the coffee pot how do you even touch something in the room that isn't filled with 160degree water?
I dare say the hotel is way cleaner than my house anyway, LOL

I voted no...I bring my own mini Keurig and K-cups. I don't trust the room coffee makers to be kept clean. I also bring a zero water pitcher.

I know the Board of Health will watch a restaurant for violations so I’m not sure it’s a fair comparison?

It’s a well known fact that certain things never get cleaned in a hotel room. Coffee pot & remote control are 2 that come to mind. But if anyone else wants to use a coffee pot that may or may not have been used to cook hotdogs or clean a dirty cloth diaper (as 2 very extreme examples), more power to them. I personally am not a coffee addict that NEEDS it to function on vacation.

And yes, I am that person that Clorox wipes everything in the room when we check in, maid service or not.

Actually if it's a regular type coffee maker (not a Keurig) there are youtube videos of people making FOOD in them, not coffee. Boiing eggs, oatmeal, etc. For people with food allergies, this can be deadly. Also there are stories of cleaning people using Clorox etc, to clean the pot out. Unfortunately not everyone is as conscientious as they should be.

Right there with you. I've seen videos where the maids cleaned the glasses with an old rag. I won't use those either, or at least not without washing them first.
