Hey Guys and Girls of the UK disboard i come for help i have booked my Holiday with Thomson and after such a bad experince i am thinking about canacling it and booking it all myself as i have been offered a refund.

so the challenge is can you help me prove to them that i can book my Holiday cheaper then what they charged me which is £5,000 for 2 weeks for 2 people

here is the breakdown of the holiday

2 weeks in Coronado Springs at WDW with tickets during the weeks of 21st Sept to 5th oct
return flights (we have paid for the upgrade but we dont need to have it) from gatwick or any london airport
discovery cove
sea world tickets
universal tickets
bush gardens tickets
car hire
disney dinning plan

so what do you reckon guys can it be done

you have a lot of tickets there , did you get all your non disney parks on a combine ticket ?

am sure you can upgrade your discovery cove tickets to include admission to seaworld and busch gardens

current offer on US website (book by july 31st)
your dates, CSR, king bed room, 10 days tickets + hopper and waterpark + free dining plan : $4160 (£2900)

flights : £600pp (indirect) = £1200

subtotal : £4100

car hire fullsize : £377

subtotal : £4477

universal 2 parks bonus ticket (valid for 14 days) : £102pp (£204)
discovery cove swim ultimate (1 DC + 14 days seaworld, busch, aquatica) £170pp (£340)

tickets subtotal : £544 (rates from Orlandoattractions.com)

grand total : £5021

these are just very rough quotes, with very rough rounding of exchange rates, and without digging too much into deals and discounts.
It could be done cheaper just by removing the waterparks options from disney tickets for example

this "quote" needs to be reworked, it can be done a bit cheaper.

Interesting that you've had such a bad experience with Thomson. I am usually a very savvy holiday shopper/planner but this year we wanted to do an African safari so I went package holiday as I know absolutely zip about that type of holiday. Anyway long story short I ended up with a 2 week package from Thomson for a 7 night Kenyan/Tanzanian safari followed by a 7 night beach hotel.

To say the service from Thomson has been bad would be the understatement of the year. I have had no advice on visas, currency or even vaccinations (or which there are many :scared1:) I wasn't even advised about when I could requests our plane seats so consequently the 4 of us are scattered over different rows. I've had practically no correspondence from Thomson and the only reason I finally got confirmation that I paid them in full and our vouchers etc was that I rang them and complained so much I think they got quick sick of me :rotfl:

Anyway sorry to hijack your thread I just want to sympathize with you and if you don't mind saying ask what it was they they've done, or not done for you ?

did you originally book and got the DDP? also is it full ddp or QSDP

Just had a quick check on disney site and Coronado springs isn't showing but I priced carribean beach and with full ddp and disney tickets its £3400 so only leaving £1600 for your flights, car and other tickets

no we paid for it as the travel agent said it was free but serectly added it into the quote one of reasons we are annoyed with them

its also QS

check in on 21st sept, check out 5th oct, as per your first post

flight is with american airlines flying out of LHR, with a stop at ORD, economy seats

direct flight is available but quoted at £789pp on kayak

I just wish to add that it's a bit late to rebook a september trip, especially for airfaire.I booked mine in february for a flight october half term and the price has kept on rising since.

thank you, i did think that as well to be honest its just after all the rubbish i have had with thomson i just feel like its not worth it all

Well disney uk you can get carribean beach club, qsdp and 14 day ultimate tickets for £3000 and then travel republic have flights for 2 for £1099, but with thomson. So that leaves almost £1k for other tickets and car so will be cutting it close.

thank you so i guess it might not be worth it really as we will be losing £500+ as a deposit

On the up-side you can come say hi to us! We're doing the exact same dates. Staying at POFQ, 3 adults, QSDP (free), 14 day ultimates were £2285 we booked at beginning of the year direct with Disney uk. Flights booked just over a week ago with VA from Gatwick £1578 economy for the 3 of us. Wouldn't have left a lot in your budget for everything else...

If you booked when free dining was on and they've charged you for it can you not complain and get that money refunded?
