Do we need sunscreen in dec

Hi: I have looked at the uv for orlando for the next week and see a three or four, do we still need the suncreen. I am not sure if a three or four in florida is different than in canada.

We always go down in early January and we find that sunscreen was helpful! It can get a bit chilly and overcast, but everytime I've gone down, its was mostly warm and sunny I alwyas get sunburned at least once so I would definately suggest packing sunscreen!

I don't take sunscreen this time of the year...maybe some for your nose but that is about it! IMHO

we were there for thanksgiving and it was chilly.................I brought sunscreen but. we didnt need it at all. During the day it wasnt that hot (75-80) and as soon as the sun went down we needed jackets. It was a waste to pack it.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I wouldn't think that temperature affects the need for sunscreen. The sun is still out, right?

OP If you're in doubt, you're probably sensitive or fair skinned...wear it. Better safe than burnt!

Since you're from Canada, I would. My face got a little red this week, and it rarely was warmer than 75 degrees.

Here's the thing about the sun in FL - it still shines the same no matter what the temperature feels like so you can get burned, even when it's cooler.

TEMPERATURE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SUNBURN RISK!!!

Yes, the sun is strongER in summertime (everywhere but the equator), but the sun is still strong. It's certainly stronger in Florida at ANY time of year than it is in the north. If you're outside most of the day, it's advisable to wear sunscreen. Women are often sensitive to this next fact -- ultraviolet radiation (UV rays) dries the skin faster and causes wrinkles to appear faster, so a more youthful appearance may be achieved by wearing sunscreen all year round.

Better safe than sorry.

Also don't forget that we brits find 75 / 80 extremely hot and would definately need sunscreen to protect our white bits

I will be in WDW on the 9th and now I will bring a small bottle of sunscreen. I don't want to be burnt!

We were there last week and it was sunny most days. We had sunscreen but never used it. We got a little chapped from the wind but no sunburn.

I'm extremely fair and my hubby and daughter are darker. A little pink on the nose and cheeks was it.

Temperature really only makes a difference because of the amount of clothing you will wear. You should still sunscreen your face, but if your wearing long sleeves and long pants then you don't need to worry about the rest of your body.

Bring the sunscreen. The people saying temperature doesn't affect whether you need sunscreen or not are so right. I got sunburned (fried actually) in October at a school football game. I was in long sleeve shirt and jeans This was in NH, and the sun is definitely stronger in Florida

PLEASE bring your sunscreen! No matter what the temperature, you can get burned if it's sunny outside. Think about people who get sunburned noses on the ski slopes!

We see bright red tourists walking around here all winter long.
