Booking my ADRs and wondering how common it is for TSs to run out of popular menu items for late ADRs?

We enjoy having late dinners, and on my last trip, Cape May ran out of Oreo bonbons. I was a bit disappointed, because I looked forward to trying them.

Any experiences with Narcoossee’s running out of whole Maine lobsters? I would be very sad if that occurred! I have a 9pm ADR.

Anyone have any experiences with this?

:scared1: Narcoossee's better not run out of Maine Lobster! I'm sure they wouldn't...

I can occasionally see restaurants running out of a few things but probably not on a regular basis. Restaurants are probably pretty good at determining demand on particular items. :thumbsup2

We prefer late dinners and have never encountered a "we've run out of that item" at any TS restaurant. Buffets might be different because we were at Biergarten once when they either ran out of or stopped replenishing certain items including a meat entree. As a result we now do buffets earlier in the evening.

As a former server in a signature restaurant - I have good news and bad.

Yes, sometimes restaurants run out of things. The good new is that usually the least popular items that are 86'd. There is always over-prep of the signature dishes and sides. There is very limited amount of prep done on, say, the chicken dish at a steakhouse. If there is a rare night when everybody wants chicken - chances are it'll be gone for the later ADR.

99.9 % the restaurant will have what you want. Enjoy it!
