Do the TS restaurants care if you just come in for dessert? We will make ADR's.
I'm thinking we will forego the DDP for our Dec trip. I just do not think it's the best choice for us... We do not like having to plan our trip around dinner reservations, my boys are 10 and 12 and only eat things like chicken strips, I'm afraid of the buffets- kids do not care about characters and worried about food quality besides my 12 yr old has Asperger's and I just dont think a buffet wil work for him..
BUT, we are a dessert loving family.. and there are several desserts that we want to try at some of the TS restaurants...

I'm thinking our eating style will be something like this: breakfast in DVC villa, larger lunch ( maybe CS, maybe TS- I will probably call that morning and see what is available for park we plan to be in), dessert later in evening.

I do not see why they would care...it might be better for you to set your ADR's at off-times for meals though...also, I would make sure you do not buy one or two desserts for the whole table...I would get everyone their own along with drinks...just to make it look good ya' know...:lmao: Have fun and EAT MUCH!!

The resturants themselves will not mind doing it but it can annoy the servers. As long as you are nice to them though it shouldn't be an issue. Just explain the situation and they should be fine with it. As said though arrange for off meal times. Also certain resturants such as the Rose & Crown in EPCOT are obviously booked out for reasons other than food such as the view. Therefore be aware that if you book a table to see the fireworks from there and all you want is a dessert you are likely to be holding on to a table that obviously is meant for a proper table service meal. The times I have just gone for appetizers (not a big dessert person) I went at lunch time and no one seemed to mind but I have been sat next to people that have made 2 deserts last 2 hours in a resturant with a view of the fireworks (Rose & Crown) which isn't really that fair on the server.

Oh also if you were considering the Rose & Crown you can get any desserts off the menu from the bar and then take them to a table in there rather than booking a table in the resturant. Not a lot of people realise they sell food in the bar and so book tables in the resturant just to have their favourite thing. All they dont do at the bar are the main meals but I believe you can get appertisers and deserts there (or could last time I went)

I remember reading that some places don't like you coming just for dessert (Italy and France were a couple). I wouldn't say anything until you get to the table to order. The servers may grumble but generally it means you won't stay that long and they can get another table.

Italy and France are (were possibly in Italy's case) run by other companies not Disney and this could be why they didn't like it.

HI- I'm the OP. Thanks for your replies.. Just curious, since people keep mentioning this.. I think we always eat at "off" times anyway- BUT what would people consider "off times" for meals??? Or what are prime-eating hours?

If we plan on just dessert and drinks, I was thinking later evening- like 9 or so. ALthough the person who mentioned the Rose and Crown gave me a good idea.. Normally, when the fireworks and parades start, we run the other way to do "attractions" since everyone is else is looking at the parades, fireworks etc.. This would be a good time to go to some of those places for desserts- wouldnt it??? Also, since that person mentioned Rose and Crown- do they have "to die for" desserts. This is not somewhere I considerd before for desserts..

Some people like the Sticky Toffee pudding. Personally not a fan of any of them
