Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

Lets hope these people are hard workers and don't like to visit Disney parks :lmao: I wish my work would send me to an Orlando conference...instead I get sent to other parts of VA
I know what you mean. Other than July a conference in Nasville, TN one time, it seems like I only get to go to conferences in cold weather cities in the middle of the winter.:sad2: I'd be more than happy to attend a conference in Disney... or anywhere in Orlando for that matter.:thumbsup2

Soooo my wonderful fellow DISers....Tim had to walk me off a Disney related ledge this week...sometimes these boards cause anxiety :headache:

I keep reading about rumors that starting this week free dining will be offered for certain weeks of the rest of the year....of course our week is blacked out :headache: After some research I realized that there are two LARGE conferences the week we are going, one being housed on property and a lot of moderate/deluxe hotels are booked during our stay :scared1: So I started freaking out about how horrible crowds might be and how horrible our vacation might be..finally Tim talked me down and I am hoping it will all be ok :goodvibes

Just avoid the Extra Magic Hours parks...and all will be well. :thumbsup2

I love those strawberry ladybugs! I'm not really a big fan of A Bug's Life, but that looks like such a fun evening.

I agree, the crowds will be fine. Once you get there, you'll have a great time, free dining or not.

Oh no! I can see where you'd be stressing about the conferences. I would think, though, that most of them would be working during the day, so only at nighttime would any issues arise. And, even, then I don't think it'll be too bad. It can't be worse than the holidays at WDW, and I didn't have too many problems with the crowds then. :confused3
Your food looks great! Love the pigs in a blanket and the chocolate pudding. I think it goes really well with the movie theme. :thumbsup2

In case everyone hasn't been reading the boards all day at work like I do :rotfl: The free dining rumor I heard about is true. I know Oct 2 to 6 and Oct 23 to Nov 5 are included in the dates...there are more in Nov and Dec that I can't remember...if you call they have it ready for booking currently and will be putting it online soon they said (I chatted with a WDW CM online this morning just to confirm)

Welcome!! Thanks for joining in :goodvibes

My co worker just returned from a training in LA where the class was held in a building that looked out onto the beach, I was kicking myself for missing out on that one!!

Just avoid the Extra Magic Hours parks...and all will be well. :thumbsup2

I can always get up early for the morning ones...but sometimes I have a hard time when they are the evening ones until midnight...at that point I need someone to push me out in a stroller :rotfl:

Thanks!! They were really yummy and easy to make which is always a big plus in my book!

I am such a worry wart...it drives Tim and most other people crazy except my mom who passed down this sense of panic to me :lmao: I think we will have a great time no matter what, I am just ready to get down there :goodvibes

Time for Day # 2 plans!! Monday Oct. 17th

So I am sure we will be getting to bed pretty late after MNSSHP...but there's no time to sleep in!!

Our first full day at WDW includes our first trip to EPCOT during this vacation :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Tim has been to EPCOT before, but has never really toured the park which I couldn't believe since he is such a Disney fan!! :scared1:

But....that means that I can be the tour guide....EPCOT never appealed to me as a kid, but I LOVE the park now :goodvibes

abcd.jpg

I am sure we will get there for rope drop time and make our way to Soarin' to get a FP and possibly even ride it stand by first

I worked at EPCOT and MGM (it was stilled called that) during the summer of 2007. I worked at Living with the Land at EPCOT, so when it was rope drop time I had to help with the crowd going to Soarin'....that was interesting :headache:

After Tim's first ride on Soarin' (which won't be the last!) We will continue to tour Future World...probably hitting up Test Track next for either a FP or hopefully not a long standby line! Tim wants to ride Mission Space (he has done that one before), but it makes me feel like I can't breathe and feel a little dizzy  So he will be riding alone...I will take a trip to the gift shop :rotfl:

Once World Showcase is open we will be checking out the different countries - again something Tim has not really done before, shocking I know!! For lunch I think we will be sampling LOTS of different things at the Food & Wine Festival :drinking1
We have already picked out a few things that we would like to try on the new menus!! I have been twice during F&W before, but have only tried one or two things...its a shame!! so I am going to make the most out of this experience

Our 6:15 pm Dinner ADR is at....

le-cellier-1-07.jpg

The restaurant I cannot correctly pronounce the name of :goodvibes I am so excited to try this for the first time!! I need some of that cheese soup for sure!!

Hopefully after dinner we will be catching Illuminations - maybe with an after dinner drink...sounds perfect to me :goodvibes Tim has never seen Illuminations, so it will be fun to see what he thinks! I am hoping we just stumble upon a good spot to watch from

Looks like a great day and I can't think of a better place to eat dinner than in a French-Canadian cellar.:thumbsup2 :lmao::rotfl2:

I'm sure Tim will love EPCOT... I've got to agree though, I'm kind of like you in the way that I kind of "grew into" EPCOT. I used roll my eyes and complain on EPCOT days when I was little, but I absolutely love that park now. I'm jealous that you got to work in Living with the Land... I minored in crop science in college and every time I ride through those greenhouses I'm always in awe. If I could work anywhere in the parks it would be in that pavillion.:thumbsup2

Mmmmm, Le Cellier! I am super excited for that soup... and I heard they have amazing bread as well!:goodvibes

Sounds like a fun day you have planned. As for MGM, I still call it that. Partially because that is what it was called the last time I was there, and partially because DHS doesn't roll off the tongue and there is no way I am going to say Disney Hollywood Studios. :lmao:

Ohhh my favorite park and my favorite restaurant...sounds like a fantastic day! Illuminations is now a favorite of mine too....I just love it....:lovestruc

Hi there! Just joining in (better late than never, right?) :goodvibes
The title of your PTR sucked me in, and I am glad! It sounds like you have an awesome trip planned! And I have to say, I am jealous that you have a DBF who loves Disney and willingly plans with you. It's like pulling teeth to get my DH to have opinions on our trip! :lmao:
I also am loving your theme nights! I am going to have to start those soon!
Can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

I mean where else can you find better fine dining than the beautiful French-Canadian cellar :rotfl: I want to try the mushroom filet...except I dont really like mushrooms...:rotfl:

I LOVED working on that ride...during training you get to do the Behind the Seeds tour for free and I still tell people about it!!

Mmmmm, Le Cellier! I am super excited for that soup... and I heard they have amazing bread as well!:goodvibes

I have tried the soup during a food and wine festival before and it was sooo good, I can't wait for a real bowl of it and not just a dixie cup size :goodvibes

I still say MGM too....its hard to make a change :rotfl:

Ohhh my favorite park and my favorite restaurant...sounds like a fantastic day! Illuminations is now a favorite of mine too....I just love it....:lovestruc

I think Tim is going to fall in love with EPCOT and I can't wait to show him attrations/part of Disney he has never seen before :goodvibes

:welcome: Glad to have you reading along!! I wish I could take credit for that title, but DBF came up with that one! It is nice to have someone who understands the importance of planning wayyy ahead of time for Disney :rotfl:
We are doing another theme night tonight, they are so much fun!

We have some new items to show off and of course where better to do so!!

Am I the only one that gets crazy looks from their friends and co workers when you mention you are going to WDW again?!? :goodvibes I have been trying to explain why I am vacationing there again this year...because its Disney and its AWESOME :cool1: Nevermind trying to explain to people how DBF and I met on the Disboards...thats a hoot to try and have someone understand :rotfl: We have started to just say "we met online" :rotfl:

So we decided to hit up some yard sales one Saturday morning (as it crept up to 100+ degrees) and found these beauties

2011-08-04_15-02-35_231.jpg

All are mine :goodvibes Except DBF's Timothy Q mouse...which he was very excited to come across (since the mouse shares the same name as him and all)...there were so many different rare characters in the small bean bag size...it was hard to pick just a few!!

I also had to get a very old Dr Seuss book (I grew up in his hometown in Massachusetts that was my excuse :rotfl:)

After we were hot and ready to swim...we headed over to Tim's parents house. Tim's mom had matching shirts made for us...I will show and then proceed to explain :rotfl:

2011-08-04_15-03-13_543.jpg

I am sure you are all scratching your heads with that one!!

When Tim and I were first dating I asked him if we could have lunch at Red Robin on one weekend. It was SOOO busy that afternoon in there when they asked for our last name Tim replied "Humperdink" (I apologize if this is your last name and I am using it :rotfl::rotfl:) I was SO embarassed...I barely knew this guy and he was making up fake names to be called at restaurants...I didn't know what to think. Of course now I think its hilarious and it was much easier to hear that name then his actual last name :goodvibes

Tim's dad had just returned from a business trip in Philly and got to visit a disney store...he brought us back 2 vinylmations

2011-08-04_15-01-45_192.jpg

Tim got the one from his favorite Disney movie..Aladdin! and I got PHIL AGAIN!!! :headache: bummer...but I am most excited about the trading of vinylmations anyway, so now I have another vinylmation to trade :cool1:

I had told you guys about how Tim found some great shirts for us to wear to MNSSHP and he also got me an extra shirt for free (coupon he had for the store we purchased them from)

2011-08-04_15-00-32_536.jpg

And here are the MNSSHP shirts :goodvibes

2011-08-04_15-00-19_753.jpg

I will be Mike and he will be Sulley :goodvibes I thought it was a cute idea so that we could be "dressed" up Disney themed without having to wear actual costumes :thumbsup2

Love the idea of being Mike & Sully for MNSSHP! We've been to the party before and it is a blast… you will have so much fun!

I've been to WDW twice during F&W, but haven't tried any of the vendors before (sad, I know!) But it's kinds hard to do when you have 2 kids along who just want to do all the rides and not "boring" stuff like eat food and check out the countries, LOL!

Next time when you go somewhere to eat and they ask for a name, just give them "Buttercup" this time! Man, now I will have Princess Bride quotes going through my mind all....day...long! :goodvibes

As for the co-worker situation, I can totally relate. We had a staff meeting yesterday on the phone and one of my coworkers on the west coast was talking about how he and his family just got back from a week at the beach and Disneyland. I mentioned how we were going to WDW in September and he asked if our kids were excited. After I mentioned I don't have kids, there was a very LONG silence. It was great! (I should also point out I am the only woman on my team, so they are already a bit scared of me anyway!:lmao:)

Great finds on the plushes!:thumbsup2

It looks like you had some good finds at the yard sale! I need to get a Pooh for DS sometime. I had one when I was growing up that I took EVERYWHERE with me. I think my mom still has him somewhere. He's faded, worn down to practically nothing and had the stuffing sewn back into him several times.:rotfl2:

I think if you're going to have someone give you a Vinylmation, it would be better to get a duplicate or one you don't like, just so you don't feel bad about trading it! :thumbsup2

The shirts for MNSSHP are awesome! I think that's a great idea to kind of be "in costume" without really wearing a costume.:thumbsup2

You got Le Cellier! Nice work!

-You can get the filet without the mushrooms. Just ask. :thumbsup2

-Order the cheese soup, then ask for extra pretzel bread. Soup + pretzel bread = :goodvibes

Love your Epcot plans! I used to be bored at Epcot as a kid, but now it's one of my favorite parks, as well.
I couldn't imagine having to direct guests to Soarin' Yikes!

I agree with you on Mission Space. When the ride first opened (when there was only one intensity) I used to go on it several times in a row with no problem. Now, though, I get really lightheaded afterwards. :confused3

I laughed when you said you were eating at Le Cellier, the place you don't exactly know how to pronounce, because I know exactly what you mean! I always mumble the name, "I want to go to Le Ce...." :lmao:

Your Monsters Inc. shirts are awesome!!!:woohoo: I love, love, love them. Defiitely my favorite shirt that I've seen that's going to be worn at MNSSHP.:thumbsup2

Awesome yard sale finds! Those are too cute!!

I absolutely LOVE your Mike & Sully t-shirts! Where did you get them? There is no way my DH would wear a costume to MNSSHP, so a t-shirt similar to that would be the perfect compromise!

And, I too now have scenes from The Princess Bride running through my head! I love that movie!!
