Do they send you new member goodies?

Just wondering if I can expect some lovely Disney mail when we close on our contract

When we joined in May 2010 we got a reusable shopping bag and a insulated shopping bag. Hope you get something nice. Welcome Home!

We received the DVC tote bag years ago but since then we haven't received anything with our direct purchases. I guess the Disney feels that their money is better spent on attracting buyers before the sale.

I just joined, few weeks ago, in a word. No. I got a "bag" with a plastic handle when they sent me my binders and all my copies of everything!

I did get another reusable bag when I went down last month.

Buying Directly from Disney, we use to get a canvas bag...it was huge and made very well! Everytime I added on they would send me one. I ended up with 4. I think they stopped doing it because you just don't see them anymore. The only "free" stuff we get now is by attending events or WhW.

We got a DVC fold up bag, definitely not as nice as the older canvas bag. We got the bag with our paperwork though not when we closed (they actually never even informed us when we closed!). We got a few other little things, but they were Doorway to Dreams related since we bought from one of their guides.

We received a denim and leather backpack type of bag with our initial purchase and the canvas tote embroidered with our add-on.

We received both of our bags before we even signed our contracts.

I just put 6 of those in our garage sale! Everytime we cruise we get 4 more! We have more red DVC baseball hats than we could ever wear! We also have 4 AKV bucket (fisherman style) hats that we got at a member event.

When DVC was 15 years old, they sent everyone a cute litho or glicee print, I'm not sure of the difference. I think the print is cute with representative features of all of the then current DVC properties. Maybe something like that will come along again.

We had gotten many DVC bags with our add ons, and the canvas and leather pack that DH is using this weekend. We're on our way to a Dolly Parton concert!

It is nice to have some DVC stuff, but people's tastes are so different it would be hard to know what they could give out next.

Did you buy direct or resale? If resale, the "goodies" were given to the original owner at purchase.
If direct, you may or may not get something (as others have said), but it can't hurt to ask your guide if they have any bags, etc left that they can give you.

We bought last year and along with the big old box of info. we got two of the red hats.
