Do they open up more discount rooms?

Do they open up more discount rooms as your arrival date nears if they still have empty rooms available? I'm going in mid October, which I would not expect to be a really busy time, and I can't seem to get a room at WL with the discount codes.

Should I keep trying?

I hope that they do. We are hoping for some more AP standard rooms at WL to open up. They only have the more expensive rooms left.

You might be able to get a room that someone else has canceled but when the codes are released its only for so many rooms and thats it. No more open up later. You best shot at getting one of the discount rooms is to call right away. But still keep calling, people cancel and reschedule all the time, you might get lucky.

I think they do because I called about 2 weeks after the latest AP and other codes were released and could have had my choice of either of the codes that were out at the time. I had been calling for 2 weeks and nothing was avail and then all of a sudden one day they were.

I think they do at times especially at the resorts with convention/meeting facilities like YC, BW, Cont. At other big hotels, blocks of rooms are set aside for convention bookings and then released back to the resort later if they aren't all taken.

I also would think that these rooms you see on expedia etc at the current discount codes are released to them in blocks and at a certain time, expedia gives back un-booked rooms.

Would also bet money that Disney closely monitors the occupancy rate and will add to discounted rooms if occupancy below a set %.

Course only Disney can say for sure.
