DO they have irons onboard????

FYI... we had to find an iron on board, and fast.

We were at Tritons the first night, and had a problem with DH's shirt - something spilled on it, so he rinsed it in the sink and had to dry it with the blow dryer, etc.

We got our luggage at about 4:30, and dinner was at 6pm. No time to send it out... so DH called guest services and he went to the room they indicated.

It was a breeze - it didn't take long, even though he said the room was busy.

Just thought I'd chip in with that... next time, I'll try to dry cleaner bags!

I may be stingy with my money but I will probably need to iron my girls sundresses I am not about to pay to have 4 dress x 3 girls when it will take me 3 seconds a dress to get it done...

I will try the downy first though ;)

Just had to chime in here. After reading the thread here is what I did last year and plan to do this year. I took all our dress clothes, which I had cleaned but of course wrinkle after time in the closet, didn't worry about how they were in a bag in fact, I put them all in a black garbage bag and packed them, when I got to the ship I put them out immediately, it included, my hubbys suit, 2 dress shirts, 3 pairs of dockers, 3 dresses for me, 1 pants suit, 4 dresses for my DD, it all came back the next night, it was if I remember correctly $40. I am a compulsive ironer, everything my DD wears is ironed, and, I didn't send out the casual clothes, I would go every night after the hubby and DD were in bed which was usually between 11-12. I would iron what we were going to wear during the next day. The days at sea my DD would only wear a bathing suit cover over her suit, so she didn't dress until dinner, or she would just through a pair of shorts on. This time I plan to iron all the casual clothes in one shot. If you can afford to do it, use the service, ts one thing to iron a pair of shorts and a top, but to iron a dressy dress, or a dress shirt is sometimes a pain in the butt, and it is a very tight space in that laundry room. Would be nice though to just put all my suitcases outside and tell them to do everything, I can only imagine what that would cost seeing as last cruise I brought enough clothes for 2 weeks. lol :cool1:

To Realmickeysgirl...thanks so much for finding that information! I appreciate it. I did go out and buy some today for the cruise, so we'll see how it works! Thanks for the poster who recommended it.

okay know I will hear about this but ----I took one I used it -(travel iron)
I was extremly careful about it- after I was done I would take a cold washcloth and keep applying it to the iron till it was cold then leave it under the sink in the bath tub room - Yes-my Hotess knew I had it even packed it up better for me a few nights- Yes it went through security and they let it come on board --so I would guess the concern is not that high with them about getting them on board- And for those who are wondering NO I didn't purposely bring it on with intention to use one -I had our stuff in a garmet bag- but after 10 days a wwd it was in the luggage and since I didn't use it there at all I forgot about it -
Yes, I understand that is is a hazard but I am fairly sure there are more things going on that we dont' know about as well -
Will I bring it next time - its a staple in the luggage -- will I use it - most likely not I don't mind others doing my ironing if It is a resonable charge and not a lot to do -

I don't know if I read it here or on one of the many Disney Packing Tips Lists'.

There was a tip to get the clear, long drycleaning bags from your drycleaner. Using a garment bag to hold the items, first place one freshly pressed item into one drycleaning bag and then hang all the items in the garment bag. It stated that this will keep your clothes wrinkle free because there is no friction between the clothes, only the plastic.
Has anyone tried this? :confused3

Also, I forgot about the wrinkle release spray. I've never used it before, but I guess now is the best time to try.

The dry cleaning bags do work! Press the garment, hang on a hanger and put each garment in it's own bag. I did this last year and everything came out nice and neat.
