Do they change and wash bedspreads between guests?

If our disembarkation breakfast time is 8:15, will we actually have enough time to do breakfast before boarding the Disney bus?
Yes, you will. Breakfast the last morning isn't particularly leisurely, though you won't be rushed out of your seat. And the DCL buses will hold at least 1 back until all guests are off the ship.

Phew that’s good to know. Also I saw the disembarkation is 8am, are we allowed to leave later than that?

You have to be out of your room at 8:00 am. They want everyone off the latest by 9:30 ish. Don't forget new guests arrive late morning and they have so much to do to get ready.

New guests arrive that early? For our cruise, they said boarding time isn’t until 4pm… wish it was earlier so we have more time to enjoy the ship

We were just on the Wish and Marceline Market (same as Cabanas) opened at 6:30 a.m. for a limited breakfast the last morning. We were able to leave our stuff in our room, go up and get some breakfast, and then pop back into our room before getting off the ship. Or if you want you can bring your luggage with you and have a more leisurely breakfast there. We had an earlier flight so we were done with breakfast and off the ship by 7:30. We let our serving team know the night before we'd be going there for breakfast so we were able to say goodbye that night.

4pm will be closer to last-call, roll-up the ramps. Close to sail-away.

Port Arrival Times -- which you'll choose at online check-in -- begin at 10:30 in Port Canaveral (maybe 11am in other US ports). Boarding actually begins around 11:30am.

Late morning as in about 10:45. Boarding starts usually around noon or even 11:30 despite what materials may say. Sailaway party is usually at 4:00-4:30 and actual sailaway is about 5:00.

Oh that’s good to know, that gives us a lot of time on the ship. Do you know how breakfast and lunch at the MDR work if we don’t want to go to Cabanas? Do we go to the same MDR that we are assigned to for dinner that night? Or can we go to any? Is it first come first serve?

On every day other than debarkation day, one (and, in the past, sometimes two) of the main dining rooms will be open for breakfast and lunch. Which restaurant(s) and the times they are open will be noted in the Navigator app. Menus should also be available in the Navigator, and possibly by the restaurant doors.

You can just show up at any time while the restaurant is open and ask to be seated. You probably won't get the same table or serving team as at dinner, but if your servers happen to be working in that restaurant at that time, you might.

Ooh ok thank you! Did you normally go to the MDR for breakfast and lunch? Or did you do cabana?

Back to the question asked
I don’t think they ever use a bedspread anymore. They use two sheets with a duvet in between. Then there is a decorative blanket at the foot of the bed

Do they wash the duvets? Also I saw somewhere that they sometimes change out the kids bedding to be Disney character themed bedding?

I should have said duvet insert and they aren’t very heavy so I would think so or hope so🤣

We never received kids sheets but I have heard of it. Not sure if it still happens or not. It's definitely not something you should expect.

My daughter got Frozen bedsheets as a surprise on the second night of our cruise in 2019. Our room steward asked if she liked Frozen and when she said yes he told her he would have a surprise for her that night. She loved it!

But your room won't be available until around 2pm if I remember correctly, so they are still cleaning even as guests arrive.

Re: breakfast on the last day - of our 6 family cruises, we've eaten in the dining room exactly once. We did not enjoy it - it felt rushed (there was enough time, but the focus seemed to be on getting us in, fed, and out as fast as possible), and crowded (everyone's carryon luggage, tons of people everywhere). Every other time we've done Cabanas - usually there are not many people up there, we get an outdoor table, and enjoy one last time eating on the deck, at our own pace, then walk off when we're ready.

We also decided we don't like packing early to have luggage out for pickup, which means we carry it all off ourselves, and that wouldn't work in the MDR breakfast. We can have it with us at our outdoor table on the top deck easily, though.

I saw this thread from 2009 suggesting they don’t change or wash bedspreads between guests, just sheets

https://www.disboards.com/threads/are-bedspreads-washed-regularly.2113053/

Do you know if they wash all of the bedding including bedspreads before giving the room to the next batch of cruisers?
Yes, it's a duvet, They even change it mid cruise and they change it if you get a small stain on it. I dropped my lipstick on the bed leaving a small stain when I came back to the room the duvet had been changed. The room hosts are OCD perfectionists. If you wanted a clean bedspread and sheets everyday, they would probably do it. The strip the beds bare on debarkation day.

You can bring all of your luggage to the MDR for breakfast on the final day. The staff will put it somewhere at the front of the restaurant while you're eating and then you'll pick it up at the end.

I very much enjoy eating the final breakfast at the MDRs, but I always have the second seating. Since breakfast starts at 8:15, we can spend a good hour there enjoying one last meal with our servers and still be off the ship on time. We usually leave at about 9:00, though. The servers tend to be a lot of fun on the final day because they don't have as much work to do during breakfast.

I've only once had to skip the final breakfast. When you take the DCL bus to the resorts, they insist that you debark and get to the bus way too early for second breakfast and I was too tired to wake up for first breakfast. Oh, well.
