None of the WDW resorts have those channels. They do have ESPN.
The ESPN club on the Boardwalk might be showing the games.

Only the NBC games will be watchable from your resort room.

We were just there at the beginning of the NHL playoffs on Weds. April 9th. Trust me, no Versus TV in the room.

BUT....you can get Japan TV, China TV, Telemundo, 29 Disney infomercial channels AND....

MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR THE WOMEN.....

1. Lifetime, the miserable womens television network :rotfl: , and
2. The Soap Channel :scared1: .

We went to ESPN Club a few times and they did have all the hockey games on and baseball too.

That's a whole lot of TV time on vacation.....Can he just tape it and watch when he gets home....its not like he'll even know the outcomes of the games if he stays away from the news.

ESPN zone will have the games though.

DH is an avid hockey fan (he still plays in an ice league), old man league :lmao: but I'm sorry, I just can't feel your pain, DH would just have to live with missing the games.

no when it comes to playoffs games just can not be missed. every game counts. I like hockey to and it will only be 2 or 3 games during our vacation so i just want to make sure there is a place to watch them. after 8 days in disney i dont think it is to hard to compromise on a couple hours of hockey

Your OP make it seem that you would be there the during the entire series. 2-3 games isn't bad. But your closing sentence brings a smirk/smile to my face.....I really would like to know if you make these 2-3 games. In reading your signature, its your first real trip to WDW. You haven't fully experienced the Disney magic WDW and not wanting to have ANY contact with the outside world. Its hard to explain, but when you get there, you'll know what I mean.

Enjoy your trip. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Ha Hah !!!

that now explains why Soapnet is available....

But what about the Lifetime (AKA, Miserable Womens Television Network ?) Is this network owned by the "mouse" ?

Ran into this during the Baseball playoffs last fall...no TBS!

Personally, television at Disney is the pits!

Soap Net was our saving grace at POP. We were always having "downtime" in the room during the 90210-O.C.- One Tree Hill block, and DH and I love some teen drama.

I don't know which side he's on, but I'm a rabid Avs (and Penguins, but that doesn't apply here) fan. I understand the emotional pull of the playoffs -- and this series in particular given the Avs/Wings rivalry. I'd want to watch, too!

Versus isn't available in the room, as others have mentioned, but you would have access to the two NBC games. If you have NHL Center Ice online, you can purchase internet access to watch that way. ESPNZone might work, but I think I would call before heading over to be certain what will be on ... and give yourselves lots of travel time if using Disney transportation, as you'll need to hop to a park and then to the BW area. If you have a car, you might have better luck finding the games on in Orlando. But like a pp mentioned, there is something about staying on site that makes it very hard to remember things, even hockey games, from the "outside world." And I don't like driving off property until it's time to go home.

This last weekend I was at Disneyland. My best friend (also a big hockey fan) and I were in line for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride when it occurred to us that we could use the cell phone to check the score from the Avs/Wild game. When we saw the score and that the Avs clinched, we started dancing, jumping up and down and generally being very happy -- in a calm and totally mature way, of course. :rotfl: The two little girls (ages 4 and 6 maybe?) in line behind us started dancing and jumping, too, even though they had no idea what was going on. When their dad asked them why they were excited, the older one replied with a very straight face "I thought it was part of this ride, Daddy." I laughed so hard my sides hurt!

AllyGirl_79, love that story!!

When we were at WDW years ago during the playoffs, the best place to be was the ESPN club. We went there almost every night to watch the games. It was so much fun to be there with ALL the fans. I think the Bruins got knocked off while we were there but we still went back to cheer with the other fans - well some of the other fans! ;) I believe they had EVERY game on, though sometimes you had to look for your game. And of course Sports Center on ESPN will have the highlights.

Have a great time!

There is something to watching your hometown team's games at ESPN Club. We have been there several times to watch Cubs games in the regular season during the summer.

We have watched a few Thanksgiving Day NFL games since 2002. Last year, we were lucky enough to be there for the Bears vs. Seahawks game on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The Bears lost but it was a BLAST !!!

Just the atmosphere does it for us. All the games are on. They have all the sports packages from Direct TV. NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL. Just ask your server if they can put a game on a TV near your table.

Sunday NFL games are the best. Get there at 11-11:30AM for the early games. It fills up VERY FAST.

During each trip in the summer, DW gives me 2 nights to be at ESPN Club. I always plan for the nights that the Cubs are playing night games.

At Thanksgiving, I get to see the Dallas late game on Turkey Day and then I get an ALL DAY stay at ESPN for the Sunday Games.

(yes i know....i am very lucky !!!! )

PS, for those of you who may not see your game, I always have a family member back at home text message me with the Cubs score of the games i can not see. I would have to think...everyone has a cell phone these days.
