We are going over Christmas this year. When I purchase something at the parks, do they offer to wrap it (and deliver it to our resort)?

I will be purchasing Christmas presents for the kids to open Christmas morning...or will I have to hide my own wrapping paper in the luggage and wrap out in the hallway in the middle of the night? Ha!

I've never had to ask but I'm betting you'll be out in the hallway wrapping presents in the middle of the night.

Or you could have someone take the kids to the pool or arcade while you stay in the room and wrap gifts as they are delivered to your resort. You could hide them in the luggage until you are ready to pull them out and surprise the kids.

Well they will deliver almost anything to your resort. Luckily for you they send it to the gift shop.

I thought I heard of some sort of gift wrapping station at DTD, but then I'm not sure if they would still delivery it back to your resort.

I think you are going to be like a lot of parents and wrapping your stuff in the hall. Maybe you can make it a party.

And of course a little PSA, don't pack wrapped presents in your luggage if you are flying. It will most likely get unwrapped.

At the park gift shops, they will cushion your item if it is breakable, and then they will staple it into a shopping bag for delivery to your hotel. While they are doing that, you will be filling out a delivery form to address it to yourself at your hotel, which also gets stapled to the shopping bag. Unless you are staying concierge level, your package will be delivered to the gift shop in your hotel for you to pick up there. Concierge guests have their packages delivered to their hotel rooms.

CMs will not giftwrap packages. They have a whole line of other guests behind you at the cash register waiting to check out. Trust me... you'll get enough eyerolls & loud sighs from fellow guests while your purchase is being stapled into a bag with your delivery form. You'll be glad you're not standing there throughout a whole giftwrapping process, lest your fellow guests become violent! ;)

The only way I could see this happening is that your package would be marked a certain way and sent to some central wrapping department where it would be taken out of its shopping bag, wrapped, re stapled into a bag and then sent to you resort.

Frankly that sounds like a nightmare keeping track of everything.

I think thats why they kind of seal it the bag, to make sure it all gets to where its supposed to go.

Thats why I thought there was something at DTD. You buy something, take it there ,get it gift wrapped for a fee of course (hopefully going to a charity) and then take it away.

OK did a quick search and found a few others asking the same question, here and on other non-DIS boards, and it seems like there is no gift wrapping, even for Xmas, at DTD.

Also most people say you may have trouble finding Gift wrap on property. So take everything paper, tape, gift tags and, what maybe an issue flying, scissors.

Also, remember when having anything delivered to your resort, it won't arrive til the next day :)

They will put it into a box with tissue paper, as long as it's not too big. (This coming from a former merchandise CM) Just ask! :)

Well, I didn't mean while I was waiting, that would be awful!! Especially at Christmas....I was thinking maybe they did it in the storage room, behind closed doors (after they sent it over to the resort)..you know a little tink magic.

I only ever had fragile goods wrapped, they would just put the rest in a plastic bag that was then sent to our resort :) be nice if they did

As far as I know, they don't even have or sell gift wrap at the parks or resorts. I looked for some @ Christmas time a few years ago and got a lot of blank stares (luckily we had wrapped most of our gifts at home) and I've seen others say the same since then.

I know it's not wrapping paper (and won't tear like it), but you could also take the Disney shopping bags that they put the items in, cut it along the seams and then use that as the "paper".

At the earliest. Sometimes, we've bought things late in the evening and it wasn't delivered until 36+hours later (which makes it two days after we bought it). That also means that you need to carry it with you (or send it to the front of the park) if you're within two days or so of your departure.

OP,
Take it from someone who had a semi-close experience to this. Make it easy on your self and bring gift bags mainly. Several years ago, I went before Christmas, came home on the 23rd and thought I could easily manage. Nope, I was wrong. I was up on the 24th until 3 AM wrapping presents for that morning. I wish I'd done bags. I know there may be a few presents you want to wrap wrap, so maybe see if someone still sells any of those flat wrapping packages like Hallmark used to. Lastly, if you guys will have a car, you can make a trip out one afternoon to go buy some.

I was going to suggest gift bags too! Easy to pack, don't need scissors or tape- just a little tissue paper that will get crinkled anyway and the bags :D. You can even get super plain ones and do disney paintings or drawings or stampings on it

When I bought charm at MK they asked if I want it to be wrapped. But just in case, I suggest to bring gift bags.
