Do the characters leave at exactly closing at Goofy's Kitchen?

We've done Goofy's Kitchen a couple of times and always booked one of the last times right before they close. The characters have always hung around and the crowd has left and we end up getting super character interaction for our hour and a half.

When I called to get that same time slot they reminded me that they close at noon and the characters will leave. We can still stay and eat but the characters will be gone. Is this new or do they always just say that? I can't remember if they had told me that in the past.

I don't want to second guess myself when this has always been a great time for us to go but does anyone else have any experiences with it being closing and the characters leaving?????

I can confirm that when we went on a weekday in November the characters left at noon. We didn't even realize it was closing time before everyone made an exit.

We were there 1/6/09 for an 11:00 reservations and were told the characters would leave at 12:15 and I think that's about when they left. The place was dead though, not even a 1/4 full, so we got constant character interaction the whole time.

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and changed it to 11:10. Less time for us to get things done in the park since they open at 10:00 but more time with the characters.
