Do Samoa rooms on either side get much noise from the pool?

I know, you'd think we are all obsessed with getting just the right room at the Poly... Guess what? I am!! Part of me just wants to wing it and the other part of me (controlling, obsessive planner) wants to try for perfection. We are now thinking of asking for Samoa. Did anyone hear much noise from the pools, especially on the first floor? Also, anyone know how late the pools stay open?

We stayed in Samoa the first week of July this year. We were on the quiet pool side. I 've read many reports about noise, but I can tell you first hand that we did not experience it at all. Samoa is a perfect location (IMHO). The only this we did hear (and it took me a couple of days to figure out what it was) was the race cars from Richard Petty's Diving Experience. Heard them every morning racing around the track. We are going back next July and will request Samoa again. I can't wait to go!

There's nothing better, IMHO, than Samoa. Recently, it has been revamped and is no longer a smoking optional building. For my family, that's even better. We always request the first floor facing the volcano pool. FYI room #'s 1601,1602,1603,etc.... are facing the volcano pool. You can step right out of your room and watch the fireworks over Cinderella's castle.

As far as noise is concerned, it exists during the day because of the pool. However, that's to be expected. I've never noticed anything at night. It has always seemed so peaceful and serene.

BTW, I have seen people swimming after midnight on many occassions. I don't think any pool hour policy is strictly enforced as long as you're quiet.

Just got back Aug 20, we had room 1602 with great view of the volcano. It is a perfect room and we didnt really hear any noise from the pool but you can hear the fireworks and the music from the water paegent. Also a word to the wise, keep your shades shut at night, we always did but for some strange reason lots of those with the volcano pool view did not and let me tell you all those walking by could see everything in their rooms like who was lying on the bed etc. My dss would say what is wrong with those people etc. I think the pool is open until 11 p.m.
