Do rates typically change (i.e. increase) or remain the same between "opening day pricing" for Pearl and what the rest of the lower Castaway Club status' get?
Transatlantic actually tends to have a lot of availability, and usually has much lower guaranteed rates after PIF.Unusual cruises (such as Panama Canal, Transatlantic, and Southern Caribbean) are more likely to fill quickly, and thus increase in price, than itineraries that are offered frequently.
IMHO, DCL should honor the published release-day price for all "release date" bookings until one day after the general public. This seems most fair. Or shall I summon the "fair"y godmother to resolve? LOL.
It's not that rare. The Panama Canal cruises went up more than $2,000 for a verandah between pearl day and gold day. I've seen a number of others go up, too. It's extremely rare. I would relax and not get caught up in all unnecessary rabid hype. This board is not reflective of how most people book vacations.
Depends on perspective. Yes, it happens almost every release that one or two cruises book up quickly. However, considering the number of cruises released by DCL, the vast majority aren't increasing in price daily. It's not that rare.

Is this the one in June next year? If so I noticed prices had increased recently. I booked about a month ago. However that itinerary has now been out for six months, so it’s not like it increased right away.I rarely book a cruise far out, but I thought the 9 day Greek Isles cruise was a fair price. It seems a lot of other people did too because it's gone up in price. The longer more expensive med cruise doesn't seem to be selling. It really depends, but I think if a cruise is priced right to start prices will go up quicker.
Yeah I booked in July. I really don't know what opening day prices were. The last couple of years they have offered GT rates on all those Greek Isles and med cruises, but they lowered the prices a bit next year so maybe it helped. It does't look like they lowered them enough to sell the 12 night. We will see what happens maybe I'll still get lucky and they will offer VGT rates. I had a look when I booked and they hadn’t moved from opening day prices that I could see. For me even though the cruise seems pricey the flights are pretty reasonable as I live in the UK.Yeah I booked in July. I really don't know what opening day prices were.
