This year has been anything but typical as far as rates go, in the past we used to be able to get $119/129 with an APH or FL res discount. This year the lowest I could find was $159 AAA for my days in May. If they are going to drop it will be closer to the trip so keep checking.

That's a great rate if you ask me, I'd book it.

Orlando kids get out of school near the end of May. At this time I'd expect rates to go up because they know when people will be visiting. I'm sure you can get a good rate the first three weeks of May, but then I'd expect them to go up as the season starts.

Yes, rates do drop closer to the date, but they may have already dropped as low as they're going to go for May. I've had RPR booked for a few months now at $179.20 AP rate for Memorial Day weekend. The rates did drop for that week, however, and I was able to book that Thursday evening (5/26) for $139 AP rate. Keep checking your rates on different days of the week. Sometimes when I check to see if the AP rates have dropped there wouldn't be ANY AP rates at all, but then the next day when I checked again the AP would magically appear again. Good luck.
