Ahead of time, to the house?
We are staying at WDW for a week before the cruise, actually 11 nights. We have Internet, so will be able to know our room. How do we get luggage tags?
Thanks.

As noted, the cruise booklet (if you opted to receive it) usually arrives about a month out. If you don't have a room assignment at that time, there will be no room noted on the tag. But the bar code on it will be tagged on the master computer/scanner when your bags actually show up at the ship and will be directed at that time to the correct room onboard.Ahead of time, to the house?

As noted, the bar code on the tag will connect with a master list. The master list is updated to reflect any port upgrades. However, sometimes they miss them. If your bags don't show up, check your "old" room (or ask your room host to do so).Related question, how do luggage tags work if you upgrade at the check-in desk prior to boarding? Just curious.
Thanks

How do you make sure you opted to get the book? Even if not sailing GT.As noted, the cruise booklet (if you opted to receive it) usually arrives about a month out. You can pick up (blank) luggage tags at the port, if you want them.
They send you blank tags about 3 weeks before cruise, and you write in the room number. You can also get blank room tags from the porters. Luggage tags aren't a big deal.Ahead of time, to the house?

It's part of the reservation process for returning cruisers. I don't believe first time (DCL) cruisers have to make the choice. It was a fairly recent change. If you made your reservation before the process started, the default was to send the full booklet. How do you make sure you opted to get the book? Even if not sailing GT.
Generally, if you're within the 30 days, you won't get the book. Possibly your booking was just a tad too close to that to qualify. Maybe. Maybe not.I'm guessing this is only if you booked through Disney? We booked at about 35 days out through American Discount Cruises but now it's only 18 days out and no booklet/tags (though we did book disney transportation to port.)
We’re returning cruisers (silver), but for the first time ever, booked through a TA (DU). Do you still think we’ll get the booklet? Almost a year in advance, if I remember right. When did you make your reservation?
Sorry, I meant to ask "when did you do your online check in?" The change adding the opt out happened around this past June. Our last DCL cruise we checked in before that and didn't have the option, but, from what I understand it's toward the end of the check in process. You'll get some sort of booklet either way. If you "opted out" you'll just get a smaller one (about 6 pages)with the luggage tags. If you didn't you'll get the bigger one (around 20 pages) with the luggage tags.Almost a year in advance, if I remember right.
October 1st was my open booking day. I don’t know if I remember seeing that opt out/in thing. I’ll go look. I wanted the book this time, because it’s my daughters Christmas present, so I was hoping to use it at the end of their Christmas morning “scavenger hunt” for their gift.Sorry, I meant to ask "when did you do your online check in?" Sometimes the booklet will go to the TA first, and they forward it. But they usually don't show up until about 30 days out from the cruise.
